The film is a remake of Tamil blockbuster film Thirupaachi directed by Perarasu starring Vijay in the lead role. It was also released in Telugu language as Annavaram. The film mainly displays the brother - sister sentiments with action backdrop. Releasing on 20 October 2006, the film was reviewed negatively by the critics citing it to be a poor remake and eventually failed at the box-office.

Surya (Darshan) and Vidya (Reema Vohra) are orphan siblings who are mistreated by the local goons. They are left to earn their living by begging on the streets. Vidya comes across an orphanage organizer and he takes her as an intern much to the respite of Surya who decides to stay away from her for her benefit.
