Anuradha (born c. 1964), known by her stage name Tara, is a south Indian film actress who primarily works in Kannada films and a politician with the Bharatiya Janata Party. On 15 March 2012, Tara was elected as a chief president for the Karnataka Chalanachitra Academy (KCA) making her the first ever actor to hold the position. Tara has featured in over 500 commercial and Parallel Cinema.
Known for her strong author backed roles, Tara has won the Best Actress award in the 2005 National Film Awards for her role in the film Hasina, which also received the Best Film on Family Welfare award. It was her first major recognition in a film career spanning over two decades long. Besides Kannada, she has acted in few Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam films as well.

Biography

Tara married cinematographer H. C. Venugopal in 2005. She gave birth to a baby boy in February 2013 through the help of IVF.

Ramachandran (Sachin Khedekar) is a genetic scientist who doesn't get due credit and funds for his research. Kempe Gowda(Sudeep) is a sub-inspector in a dusty village of Rona in Hubli in North Karnataka, his native, where he is adored. His bumbling colleague Pashupati(Sharan) is cheerful and always helps him with his work. A beautiful girl Kaavya (Ragini Dwivedi) comes to his village. Eventually Kempegowda and Kaavya fall in love with each other. Armugam(P. Ravi Shankar), a notorious criminal, is brought down to his knees at the local police station. Their egos clash and Armugam, who has never had to face an opposition before, decides to teach Kempegowda a lesson. He is transferred to Bangalore, after being promoted as an Inspector, where Armugam's wits run large. His sub co worker Bose employs him at the Magadi Road Police Station. The Karnataka Home Minister C Ashok is pleased with Kempegowda and appoints him in all the activities responsible for the city, and posts him as the Assistant Commissioner of Police of the Anti Kidnapping Force.As the cop begins to unearth Armugam's misdeeds, he realizes that he is up against a real challenge. In return Kempegowda kills Vaikunta (J. Karthik) Armugam's younger brother. This infuriates Armugam who begins targeting many people who are close to Kempegowda including Kaavya whom he shoots but is saved by Kempegowda and Bose who is hacked to death by Armugam's henchmen. Finally in a bid to escape the arrest warrant issued out to him, Armugam kidnaps the Tamil Nadu Home Minister's daughter. He falsely tells Kempegowda that he is going to Mangalore with her when he is actually going to Nellore in Andhra Pradesh to put the police off the track. Kempegowda and his officers pursue Armugam and his henchmen near Nellore and kills all of the henchmen. He saves the Tamil Nadu Home Minister's daughter and kills Armugam in an encounter. In the end as the post credits roll, it is revealed that Kempegowda is resigning from the police force and together he and Kaavya are going back to Hubli. They are also happily married.

The film is centered around the rivalry between two neighboring villages with rival gangs in both competing in every aspect. His daughter is very close friends with Minister's daughter Aditi. Meanwhile, an underworld don Appu (Mukesh Rishi) is under the captivity of the Government and his aids are in a rage to get him released. They hatch a plan to kidnap Minister's daughter Aditi and demand for the release of Appu. By mistake, they kidnap Jagannath's daughter Meghana and demand for the release of Appu in exchange of Megahana. The emotional trauma undergone by the Jagannath's family and the Minister's efforts in releasing the child from the captivity forms the rest of the story.

Arun (Ganesh) is a photographer employed in a studio in Mysore. Also living in the city is a very wealthy Rajashekhara Aras (Anant Nag), in his palatial house, now a loner separated from his family, and has become a hard drinker, living with his manservant Basava (Karibasavaiah). The film starts with a happy small family of Hoovaiah (Dr.Vishnuvardhan) and Kanaka (Suhasini) having a small field growing flowers of Mallige, Sampige and other flowers which spread fragrance. Globalization companies cause problems for the village as there are rich mine deposits nearby. Hoovaiah, zamindar of Jenu Koppa village, is a flower seller.Villagers revere him. When the government gives an MNC the licence to acquire land for mining in Jenukoppa, he strongly opposes it. But Kurupayya (Rangayana Raghu) joins hands with politicians and officials and tries to brainwash people to sell their land for a huge amount. Police atrocities and lathi charges on villagers force Hoovaiah to fight a lone battle against land acquisition. Fed up by the turn of events, all villagers decide to leave the village.But Hoovaiah launches a hunger strike to save the village and finally wins the battle.
