The A.R.K. Report – Secret for the Century is a 2013 action-adventure sci-fi short film and television pilot produced by Canadian-Israeli research professor, Harry Moskoff and directed by Shmuel Hoffman. The lead actress is Katy Castaldi who plays Karmi. The lead actor is Pascal Yen-Pfister who plays Roth.

Synopsis

The film takes place in a dystopian future, and follows a young woman (Karmi) who stumbles across her personal destiny as the only one who can find the ancient Ark of the Covenant and keep it out of the hands of those that want to use it for evil. The opening and closing documentary-style segments comprise a unique cinematic feature intended to synthesize real-life threats within the fictitious storyline. All scenes that are depicted in the future are filmed in black and white while scenes which take place in the present are shown in color.

South Boston teenager Jason Tripitikas (Michael Angarano) is a fan of martial arts films and he awakens from a dream of a battle between the Monkey King (Jet Li) and celestial soldiers in the clouds. He visits a pawn shop in Chinatown to buy Wuxia DVDs and discovers a golden staff. On his way home, Jason is harassed by some hooligans, whose leader Lupo attempts to use him to help them rob the shop-owner Hop. Hop tries to fight the thieves with the staff, but is shot and wounded by Lupo. He tells Jason to deliver the staff to its rightful owner and Jason flees with the staff. He is cornered on the rooftop by the hooligans and almost shot too, but he is pulled off the roof by the staff and falls backwards onto the asphalt.

Jack (Tim Thomerson) is now a successful private detective, catching cheating lovers in the act. The film opens with a reenactment of final scenes of Waxwork, with Mark and Sarah leaving the burning waxwork (the part of Sarah having been recast from the first film). Captain Jean-Luc Picard wakes from a nightmare in which he relived his assimilation by the cybernetic Borg six years earlier (shown in the television episode "The Best of Both Worlds"). Starfleet informs him of a new Borg attack against Earth, but orders the USS Enterprise-E to patrol the Romulan Neutral Zone so as not to introduce an "unstable element" to the fight. Learning that the fleet is losing the battle, the Enterprise crew disobeys orders and heads for Earth, where a single, damaged Borg Cube opposes a group of Starfleet vessels. The Enterprise arrives in time to save the crew of the USS Defiant which is being commanded by Lieutenant Commander Worf. After Picard hears Borg communications in his mind, he orders the fleet to concentrate its firepower on a seemingly non-vital section of the Borg ship. The Cube is destroyed after launching a smaller sphere ship towards the planet.
