La Citadelle assiégée (aussi intitulé Micropolis, la citadelle assiégée) est un film documentaire français réalisé en 2006 par Philippe Calderon, tourné au Burkina Faso, mettant en scène des termites et des fourmis magnan.
Synopsis
En pleine savane africaine, au sud-est du Burkina Faso, à l'abri dans leur tour de plusieurs mètres de haut, les termites sont au travail… lorsqu'un drame vient bouleverser leur vie bien ordonnée. Une pluie tropicale diluvienne va inonder galeries et chambres de la termitière éventrée. Non loin de là, une colonne de terribles fourmis magnans, carnassières, se prépare à l'attaque. Elles vont profiter de la fragilité de la tour des termites pour mener un véritable assaut. Une guerre sans merci va faire rage…Actors

A fictitious scientist called Dr. Nils Hellstrom (played by Lawrence Pressman) guides viewers throughout the film. He claims, on the basis of scientific-sounding theories, that insects will ultimately win the fight for survival on planet Earth because of their adaptability and ability to reproduce rapidly, and that the human race will lose this fight largely because of excessive individualism. The film begins when Lobo is a 6-week old pup, identical to his brothers and sisters. While his father, El Feroz is out hunting for meat to feed the family, Lobo follows his nose to his first adventure, and takes a tumble down the cliff his family dens in. As soon as he manages to climb back up, a cougar appears on the scene. Things look grim for the wolves, until "a wild card" shows up; cattlemen riding by below the wolves' den spot the cougar, and shoot it as it prepares to pounce on the wolves. The narrator makes it clear that the cattlemen do not favor the wolves: Lobo is only spared because he's out of sight. When Lobo's father returns to the den soon after the incident, he smells both the cougar and the cattlemen, and decides to pick up and move house to avoid them.
