The Breadwinner is an upcoming Irish Canadian animated film by Cartoon Saloon that is directed by Nora Twomey and executive produced by Angelina Jolie. The film is based on the best-selling novel by Deborah Ellis. This film will be released in December 2017.
Synopsis
Parvana est une jeune fille vivant à Kaboul en Afghanistan, contrôlé par les talibans. Son père, Nurullah, autrefois enseignant, est amputé de la jambe droite, conséquence de la Guerre d'Afghanistan, ce qui le force à devenir colporteur afin de subvenir aux besoins de sa famille. À la suite d'une altercation avec l'un de ses anciens étudiants, Idrees, à qui il refuse la main de sa fille sous prétexte qu'elle est déjà fiancée (ce qui est faux), il se fait injustement emprisonner, laissant la famille en détresse car il est le seul homme adulte encore en vie, le fils aîné Sulayman étant mort quelques années plus tôt. Parvana se retrouve donc seule avec sa mère Fattema, sa sœur aînée Soraya et son petit frère Zaki. Puisque les femmes ont l'interdiction de sortir sans leur mari, leur père ou leur frère, la famille se retrouve isolée, sans nouvelles de Nurullah. Après que sa mère soit revenue battue car elle était sortie sans être accompagnée d'un homme de sa famille pour retrouver son mari et que Parvana ait tenté, sans succès, d'acheter de la nourriture au marché, elle décide de se couper les cheveux et de se vêtir en homme. Elle se fait donc passer pour le neveu de son père et prend comme nom « Aatish » afin de pouvoir subvenir aux besoins de sa famille. Le soir, lorsqu'elle rentre, elle divertit son jeune frère en lui inventant une histoire dans laquelle un jeune garçon part affronter le roi éléphant afin de reprendre les graines qu'il a volées.Actors

In 1982, Ari Folman was a nineteen-year-old infantry soldier in the Israel Defense Forces (IDF). In 2006, he meets with a friend from his army service period, who tells him of the nightmares connected to his experiences from the Lebanon War. Folman is surprised to find that he remembers nothing from that period. Later that night he has a vision from the night of the Sabra and Shatila massacre, the reality of which he is unable to clearly recall. In his memory, he and his soldier comrades are bathing at night by the seaside in Beirut under the light of flares descending over the city.

The film begins in medias res with the space fortress Macross trying to evade the Zentradi at the edge of the Solar System. The film begins at Sannomiya Station on 21 September 1945, shortly after the end of World War II. A boy, Seita (清太), is shown dying of starvation. Later that night, having removed Seita's body, a janitor digs through his possessions and finds a candy tin which he throws away into a nearby field. The spirit of Seita's younger sister, Setsuko (節子), springs from the tin and is joined by Seita's spirit as well as a cloud of fireflies. Seita's spirit then begins to narrate their story accompanied by an extended flashback of the final months of World War II.

Dans une bataille qui semble parodiée les combats de la première guerre mondiale, le vaillant soldat des tranchées, Bosko, est en train de manger lorsque le feu de l’ennemi détruit sa nourriture. Il attrape un morceau de fromage dans une souricière et essaye de le manger. Il soupire alors que d'autres explosions pleuvent sur ses décombres. Il sort une photo de Honey de son short et l'embrasse, mais une balle détruit la photo. Il juge de se venger, mais lorsqu'il tente de sortir de la tranchée, il est repoussé par un tir de barrage. Pour lui remonter le moral, un cheval soldat joue de son harmonica et les deux commencent à danser. Un troisième soldat, un chien, essaie de dormir mais une puce le mord. Malgré ses tentatives pour s'en débarrassé, il arrive pas atteindre la puce. Bosko attrape le casque du chien et le tient en l'air pendant que les balles ennemies lui perforent des trous déchiquetés, il le rend au chien reconnaissant, qui l'utilise contre la puce. Puis Bosko voit une souris qui pilote un pélican, larguer des bombes et utilise le chien comme une fronde pour abattre le pélican. En essayant de capturer un nid de mitraillette, dans un nid d'oiseau, un hippopotame amicale est abattu par une artillerie lourde. Bosko lie un tissu blanc à un poteau en guise de drapeau de trêve pour pouvoir aider l'hippopotame, mais une autre bombe s'y accroche. Le tissus s’approche ensuite et dépose la bombe à côté du canon pour la faire exploser. Il sauve ensuite le soldat blessé en décompressant son nombril et en récupérant l'obus. Le projectile explose quand même rendant Bosko entièrement noir et le poussant à s'exclamer "Mammy!" à la Al Jolson.
