Mary Manners a hérité du don de télépathie de ses ancêtres bohémiens. Sur une petite route de campagne, le Dr John O'Neill la sauve d'un voleur et ils deviennent rapidement amis. John, qui ne connaît son père que par la pension qu'il en perçoit, rend visite à Mary, chez qui il rencontre le Juge Brainard, le père du fiancé de Mary, Robert. Alors que ce dernier, jaloux, se plaint de la présence du docteur, le juge admet que John est son fils d'un précédent mariage. Andrew Vail surprend la conversation et menace de faire chanter le vieil homme. Lors d'une bagarre, le Juge Brainard pousse Andrew du haut d'une falaise, mais c'est John qui est arrêté car des preuves l'accusent. Alors qu'il préside le procès, le juge reste silencieux alors même que le jury déclare son fils coupable mais, quand il rencontre le regard de Mary, il confesse sa culpabilité. Comme il a agi en légitime défense, il est acquitté, et il retrouve son fils et sa nouvelle belle-fille.

Based upon a summary in a film publication, a minister's son, David Marlowe (Frazer), gets drunk and marries chorus girl Ember (Nilsson), and then forges a check and flees. Ember then decides to leave the straight and narrow path and charges some gowns to Bunny Fish (Schable), the man her husband had robbed. When she hears that her husband has returned with money to repay his debt, she changes her mind and returns the clothing. Later, when she believes David has killed Bunny Fish because of his attentions towards her, but it turns out that Fish is only slightly hurt. Palter (Lane), owner of the establishment where David first got intoxicated, has become so interested in David's regeneration that he remembers him in his will, and just before he dies he also signs over some bonds to Ember after learning that she has remained true to her husband.

As described in a film publication summary, Carlotta Darley (Dean) is engaged to Homer Carleton (Crosby), but regrets that Homer is not as tall and handsome as the butler Peter (Kerry). Her father Christopher Darley (Tooker) was aware that Peter was a former crook but believes that he has reformed. Clare Conway (Keefe), the household maid, is in love with Peter and jealous of Carlotta's admiration of him. A reception is in progress when John Stover (Everton) arrives with a paper that will bring about the Darleys' financial ruin. Peter arranges to have John brought into the reception room, then holds up the guests to secure the paper and save his employer. John and Clare then escape together.

As described in a film magazine, Clorinda Gildersleeve (Barrymore) has drifted into an affair with a married man, Leslie Palliser (Ellis). She goes to Europe to forget and meets Malcolm Grant (Davidson), a young surgeon, who falls in love with her. However, because of her affair with Palliser, she believes she has no right to accept his love. She hears an excellent sermon preached by Reverend Arthur Bainbridge (Gillmore) on the text "Woman, go and sin no more" and appeals to the minister in regards to Malcolm's attentions. She sends Malcolm to see the minister, but he does not disclose Clorinda's secret. The minister interests her in a home for erring girls and Clorinda adopts one of the inmates. Reverend Bainbridge urges her to marry Malcolm, but during the ceremony she falls in a faint. That night, however, she writes to the minister announcing her marriage to Malcolm and their departure for France, where he will do surgical work and she will become a nurse.
