Conqueror of Atlantis (Il conquistatore di Atlantide, UK title: Kingdom in the Sand) is a 1965 Italian fantasy film adventure directed by Alfonso Brescia. A poor quality pan & scan copy of the film is presented as a bonus feature on the DVD Goliath and the Dragon.

Synopsis

After a ship wreckage Hercules finds himself on an unknown coast. He is found by princess Virna which takes care of the wounded Hercules. After a nightly assault Virna disappeared. Hercules starts to search her and finally finds her in Atlantis where Virna had been selected to become the new heires after the current Queen Ming. Hercules gets captured by Ming's amazon guard.

Hercules is called upon to fight seven golden giants summoned by the Dagger of Jae, sister of Juno (Hera), who dislikes Hercules "for certain family reasons." Hercules also fights to protect his princess love, but matters are complicated by her evil relative Milo, who has murdered her father the king but has tricked her into thinking it was someone else because she trusts him too much. Milo tricks Hercules into killing his friend, for which he is punished by his father Jove (Jupiter/Zeus) who takes away his enormous strength, because he has misused it. The king of Crete, Cadmos, has just murdered his wife in order to live with his scheming lover Ermione. Pelias (Douglas Wilmer), misinterpreting the prophecy given to him by the god Zeus (Niall MacGinnis), usurps the throne of Thessaly by killing King Aristo and most of his family. The infant Jason is spirited out by one of Aristo's soldiers. Pelias encounters one of the king's daughters, Briseis (Davinia Taylor), seeking sanctuary in the temple of the goddess Hera (Honor Blackman) and slays her. Because the murder has profaned her temple, the angry Hera becomes Jason's protector. She, disguised as the high Priestess, warns Pelias to beware of a man wearing one sandal.
