A tired cop and a subway conductor are seen waiting at a subway platform, late at night. The conductor opens the doors to the train at left, and out steps an obviously drunk man carried between two women in fancy dress. The cop begins to mix it up with the three of them, and they are interrupted by another man in a bowler hat; he is carrying a large package and steps onto the train to the right after greeting the two women and the drunk man. One of the women steps forward into the frame and lifts up her skirt so that the drunk man can tie her shoe. This gets the attention of the cop, who hustles the three of them onto the train; meanwhile what appears to be a pair of bare legs stick out from a window of a train car and are quickly withdrawn. The cop just manages to notice this, and calls all parties back out to the platform where it is revealed that the man in the bowler hat has a pair of department store mannequin's legs with him.

On a beautiful summer day a father and mother take their daughter Dollie on an outing to the river. The mother refuses to buy a gypsy's wares. The gypsy tries to rob the mother, but the father drives him off. The gypsy returns to the camp and devises a plan. They return and kidnaps Dollie while her parents are distracted. A rescue crew is organized, but the gypsy takes Dollie to his camp. They gag Dollie and hide her in a barrel before the rescue party gets to the camp. Once they leave the gypsies and escapes in their wagon. As the wagon crosses the river, the barrel falls into the water. Still sealed in the barrel, Dollie is swept downstream in dangerous currents. A boy who is fishing in the river finds the barrel, and Dollie is reunited safely with her parents.

1935. Jacques et Simon sont deux petits malfrats à la petite semaine vivant de braquages et de vols de bijoux. La sortie de la "Citroën Traction Avant" leur ouvre de nouvelles perspectives en raison de sa grande vitesse. Ils intensifient leurs forfaits tandis que l'inspecteur Deschamp s’intéresse à eux. Dans un bal populaire, Jacques drague Lola, une jolie prostituée qui va désormais les accompagner dans leur coups... Lorsque la Seconde Guerre mondiale éclate, les trois amis se trouve embringués dans une affaire de vol de tableaux récupérés chez des collectionneurs juifs. Le trio souhaite alors doubler les allemands, déroute le train transportant les tableaux et charge un camion. Les autorités allemandes déclarent qu'en représailles 50 civils seront fusillés à moins que les tableaux soient rendus. Simon rend le contenu du camion aux allemands, mais désormais la guerre est ouverte entre le trio et l'inspecteur Deschamp, passé entre temps collaborateur de la Gestapo. Deschamp parviendra à kidnapper et à torturer Lola qui refusera de parler. De son côté Jacques et Simon kidnappent Dominique la femme de Deschamp. Les deux femmes sont échangées, mais Jacques a pu remarquer pendant sa capture que Dominique ne tenait pas en haute estime son mari. L'idée lui vient de coucher avec elle afin de lui soutirer des renseignements sur les activités en cours de la Gestapo. Cela fonctionne un moment jusqu’au jour où Jacques et Dominique sont arrêtés sur leur lieu de rendez-vous. On torture Jacques, Dominique dit alors aux allemands que c'est son mari qui fournit des renseignements à la résistance. Deschamp a alors le choix, tuer sa femme ou se suicider, il tue Dominique, mais les allemands considérant qu'il s'agit d'un acte de résistance désespéré, le torturent et l’emprisonnent. A la Libération, Jacques est décoré par le général De Gaulle... mais Deschamps également qui se voit offrir un poste important au ministère de l'intérieur.

Monsieur Orgon s'apprête à accueillir Dorante, le fils d'un vieil ami (qu'il n'a jamais vu) pour qu'il fasse la connaissance de sa fille, Silvia, que les deux familles souhaitent lui voir épouser. De son côté, Silvia a recours au même stratagème, pour les mêmes raisons, et troque sa toilette contre le tablier de sa chambrière Lisette. Il résulte de cette double ruse un heureux imbroglio, sous le regard amusé du père et du frère de Silvia, les seuls dans le secret. Sous leur déguisement, les jeunes gens, maîtres comme valets, vont se plaire et bientôt s'aimer.

Romeo Rajkumar (Shahid Kapoor) is an aimless youth who arrives in small town of Dhartipur been ruled by two drug barons named Shivraj Gurjar (Sonu Sood) and his arch enemy Manik Parmar (Ashish Vidyarthi), controlled by a Mafia don named Ajit Taaka (Srihari), who operates in Hong Kong. Rajkumar now works for Shivraj. But his life changes forever when he claps eyes on the beautiful, educated Chanda (Sonakshi Sinha). What he does not know is, that Chanda is an orphan who is being raised by Manik Parmar. After some persistent wooing, Chanda falls for Rajkumar's charms. Just when their love was about to flourish, Shivraj and Parmar compromise and Parmar decides to get Chanda married to Shivraj, against Chanda's wish. Angered Rajkumar beats Shivraj's men and challenges him, saying that he will marry Chanda in front of Shivraj. Furious, Shivraj plans to get Rajkumar killed in an encounter by his pet police officer. But in return, gets a shocking surprise when it is revealed that Rajkumar actually works for Don Ajit Takka and was sent to Dhartipur only to take over the drug cartel to which both Shivraj and Parmar owe allegiance. Rajkumar captures Shivraj's truck full of drugs and drives it to Takka, revealing he himself was a big gangster all along. After giving Shivraj's stolen truck to Takka, he discovers that the truck was empty. In a twist of events, it turns out that Shivraj and Takka had joined hands, and purposely made Rajkumar steal the empty truck. Shivraj and Takka brutally kill Rajkumar and bury him. Shivraj starts his wedding celebrations with Chanda, only to be interrupted by the still alive Rajkumar, who is shown to have been rescued by one of Shivraj's henchmen after he was buried. Shivraj's men back off, because they are now friends with Rajkumar, hence leading to a one on one fight between the two. Finally, Rajkumar injures Shivraj with a power punch to the neck and later kills Don Takka with a ceramic tile. The film ends with all the men beating Parmar, while a severely injured Rajkumar and Chanda walk away hand in hand happily.
