The Last of the Mohicans (German: Der Letzte der Mohikaner) is the feature-length second part of the two-part 1920 German adventure film Lederstrumpf (Leatherstocking) directed by Arthur Wellin and featuring Bela Lugosi. It is based on James Fenimore Cooper's novel of the same name. The first part was The Deerslayer and Chingachgook (Der Wildtöter und Chingachgook).

A print of Lederstrumpf, in its heavily edited U.S. version titled The Deerslayer, was discovered in the 1990s.

A visionary doctor, Dr. Janos Rukh (Boris Karloff) invents a telescope that can look far out into space — into the Andromeda Galaxy — and pick up rays of light that will show the Earth's past. Looking at the past on a planetarium-like dome in his lab, a group of assembled scientists as well as Dr. Rukh see a large meteor hit the earth thousands of years ago. Amazed by the demonstration, the group invites Rukh to go on an expedition to find the meteor that appeared to land in Africa. While in Africa, Rukh finds the meteor but is exposed to strong radiation ("Radium X") from the rock, which makes his touch death on the spot. Dr. Benet (Bela Lugosi) develops a serum that holds this effect at bay and takes a piece of the stone back to Europe and uses it to heal people, including curing the blind. Rukh, suffering from the radiation, glows at night when not treated and is slowly losing his mind.

It is prior to the commencement of World War II, and Japan's fiendish Black Dragon Society is hatching an evil plot with the Nazis. They instruct a brilliant scientist, Dr. Melcher, to travel to Japan on a secret mission. There he operates on six Japanese conspirators, transforming them to resemble six American leaders. The actual leaders are murdered and replaced with their likenesses. Dr. Melcher is condemned to a lifetime of imprisonment so the secret may die with him.

Three Russians, Iranov (Sig Ruman), Buljanov (Felix Bressart), and Kopalsky (Alexander Granach), are in Paris to sell jewelry confiscated from the aristocracy during the Russian Revolution of 1917. Upon arrival, they meet Count Leon d'Algout (Melvyn Douglas), on a mission from the Russian Grand Duchess Swana (Ina Claire), who wants to retrieve her jewelry before it is sold. He corrupts them and talks them into staying in Paris. Malgré cela, les trois hommes résistent en repensant aux moments heureux de leur vie, en communiquant en frappant sur les murs ou en mettant en évidence l'absurdité du régime pénitentiaire. Ils font échouer ainsi le plan des militaires de les rendre fous faute de pouvoir les tuer.
