Synopsis
En 1920, dans la campagne irlandaise. Les jumeaux Rachel et Edward mènent une existence pour le moins étrange dans leur grand manoir décati. Tous les soirs à minuit, la propriété familiale est hantée par la présence des Locataires, de sinistres esprits leur imposant de vivre selon trois règles strictes : ne jamais se coucher après minuit, ne jamais laisser d’inconnu passer le seuil de leur porte et ne jamais se séparer l’un de l’autre. Lorsque Sean, un jeune vétéran de la Première Guerre, rentre chez lui, dans le village voisin, il tombe immédiatement sous le charme de la mystérieuse Rachel, qui en vient à enfreindre les règles édictées par les Locataires. Rachel doit alors affronter la fureur de son frère tout comme la malédiction qui continue à peser sur eux deux.Actors

It's a seemingly idyllic summer in 1935, and identical twins Niles and Holland Perry play around the bucolic family farm. Holland is an amoral mischief maker, though sympathetic Niles is often caught in their shenanigans. Niles carries a Prince Albert tobacco tin with him containing several secret trinkets, including something mysteriously wrapped in blue wax paper, and the Perry family ring, which had been handed down from their grandfather, through their father, to Holland, the older twin. Niles asks Holland to confirm that the ring is now indeed his. "Cripes yes, I gave it to you," is the response. Niles asks Holland to take the ring and the wrapped object back, but Holland insists "I gave them to you, they're yours now." Their obnoxious cousin Russell, whom the boys call "Piggy Lookadoo" behind his back, finds them in the apple cellar below the barn--a place they are not supposed to play--and happens to see the contents of the tobacco tin, including the ring. Russell cryptically states that the ring was supposed to be buried, and promises to "tell on" Niles to his father, Niles' Uncle George. Uncle George padlocks the door to the apple cellar to keep the kids from playing there, but there is another stairway inside the barn, giving them access to the cellar.

After undergoing cosmetic facial surgery, a mother (Susanne Wuest) comes back home to her modern, isolated lakeside house and her ten-year-old twins, Elias and Lukas (Elias and Lukas Schwarz). Durant les vacances estivales, Jacki et Julian Dewar quittent New York pour s'installer dans un quartier cossu de Londres. Elle rencontre un maquereau, Clive, qui devient son amant au grand désarroi de son frère possessif. Criblé de dettes, Clive emmène Julian dans un bordel où il se fait violer par une bande de prostitués travestis. Pendant ce temps, Clive photographie le viol pour faire du chantage à Julian qui doit lui donner de l'argent en échange des photos compromettantes. Alertée par Denise, la petite amie de Clive, sur ses pratiques perverses, Jacki réconforte son frère et lui propose de tuer Clive. Lors d'un rituel, celui-ci est poignardé par les jumeaux psychopathes. Mais la peluche de Jacki est déchirée lors du meurtre et, affolée, la jumelle s'enfuit sans Julian.
