The Master (Turkish: Usta) is a 2009 Turkish drama film, directed by Bahadır Karataş, starring Yetkin Dikinciler as a small town car mechanic in who builds a small biplane in his backyard. The film, which went on nationwide general release across Turkey on May 8, 2009 (2009-05-08), won a Best Supporting Actress nomination for Hasibe Eren at the 3rd Yeşilçam Awards.

Synopsis

Dogan, a car mechanic in a small town, is obsessed with flying. He's been building a small biplane in his backyard for years. His wife Emine does not share his affinity with aviation and feels neglected in their marriage. When Dogan's plane crashes during an aeronautics fair, she gives him an ultimatum and he is left at a crossroads. Will he still pursue his passion for flying, or will he be content with a humble life with his wife, solely as a car mechanic?

Le séduisant Oberlieutenant Paul Wendlandt est stationné comme pilote de chasse en Afrique du Nord. Il est rappelé à Berlin pour une journée en tant que rapporteur. Lorsqu'Hanna part avec des amis, à la fin du spectacle, Paul la suit et lui parle dans le métro berlinois. Après une soirée à l'appartement des amies d'Hanna, Paul la raccompagne jusque chez elle. C'est sur ce chemin que la chance a décidé de frapper : une alerte aérienne force Hannah à emmener Paul à se réfugier avec elle dans l'abri anti-aérien de son immeuble. Hanna tombe également amoureuse de Paul, mais, après une nuit passée ensemble, Paul est forcé de retourner au front.

Arizona inventor "Doc" Williams (Emmett Vogan)has invented a wireless remote control that can pilot an aircraft. Young, naive Canadian biologist Tyler (Charles Martin Smith) is assigned by the government to travel to the isolated Canadian arctic wilderness and study why the area's caribou population is declining, believed to be due to wolf-pack attacks; amongst his orders to study them he is also given a gun and required to kill one wolf and examine its stomach contents. Airline pilot captain Whip Whitaker (Washington) uses cocaine to wake up after a night of very little sleep in his Orlando hotel room. He is jolted awake as the plane goes into a steep dive. Unable to regain control, Whip is forced to make a controlled crash landing in an open field and loses consciousness on impact.
