The Mirror of the World (German:Der Weltspiegel) is a 1918 German silent film directed by Lupu Pick and starring Adolf Klein, Fritz Richard and Gertrude Welcker. It was the directoral debut of Pick who had been a prominent actor of the 1910s but had set up his own production company Rex-Film to take advantage of the booming German film industry. It was shot in Berlin. The film's art direction was by Hans Neirath.

À Berlin au début du XX siècle, les cinq membres d'un groupe de chanteurs vivent dans l'indigence dans un immeuble délabré. Quand l'administrateur de l'immeuble est retrouvé assassiné, Peter et Paul, deux membres, sont soupçonnés du meurtre. Au retour d'un concert, la police les attend pour les arrêter et les interroger. Comme Paul est plus impliqué dans l'enquête, il est immédiatement arrêté. Peter sait l'innocence de Paul et ne peut pas permettre l'arrestation, aussi parce qu'il sait combien Marie, une connaissance mutuelle, a Paul dans son cœur.

Hjalmar Ekdal un photographe, mène, avec son épouse Gina et sa fille Hedwig, une vie qui repose sur le mensonge. Gina fut autrefois la maîtresse du riche Jan Werle.
