Synopsis
L’un des rois de l’ancienne Thèbes entre dans la demeure d’un astrologue et exige qu’on lui dise son avenir. Le premier refuse catégoriquement de prévoir les événements à venir de son souverain, même sous peine de mort ; Mais il engendre une prêtresse qui possède les pouvoirs de divination. Cette prêtresse est présentée d’une manière merveilleuse: un trône est avancé, puis une boîte d’où les morceaux d’une statue sont retirés et empilés dans un ordre régulier; La statue s’anime soudainement. Le roi implore ce dernier de prédire sa vie. Elle lui ordonne de regarder à travers un télescope vers le côté de la pièce. Une vision apparaît, le révélant assis sur une chaise d’État et entouré de sa cour, quand soudain il tombe par terre, mort d’assassinat. Le roi est furieux. Il cherche à tuer l’astrologue, mais son épée ne sert à rien contre ce maître magicien. Un sac d’or est finalement apporté, et quand il est livré, la malédiction est levée.Comments

A traveler, complete with riding boots and a pith helmet, arrives in a small hotel room. When he puts his luggage on the bed, it disappears immediately. Further magical confusions follow: when he sets down his helmet, it jumps to the floor and moves of its own accord before disappearing in its turn; when the traveler tries to light a candle, it jumps across the room and explodes; when he takes off his coat, it flies through the wall; when he tries to sit down, his chair changes place. Finally managing to sit down, the traveler takes off his boots, which walk away; when the traveler moves to the night table, it too disappears. Nous sommes introduits à l’intérieur d’une vaste grotte et le Bogie Man, qui commence à préparer un repas, soufflant d’abord son feu avec de grands soufflets. Puis préparant une énorme poêle, il y place toutes sortes de légumes, de farine, etc., pour finir avec un seau d’eau. Ce n’est pas suffisant pour satisfaire son bogieship, alors il appelle un garçon captif, qui apparaît, et quand on lui dit qu’il doit devenir de la nourriture pour le bogie, supplie fort pour sa vie. En vain, le bogie le saisit, le porte à la planche à pétrir et procède à le hacher en viande hachée, qu’il ajoute au contenu de la poêle, en remuant le tout avec une louche, en dégustant pour apprendre sa progression. Pendant qu’il cuisine, il jette un coup d’œil, tire sa chaise vers le feu et commence à lire, après un certain temps, il devient somnolent et s’endort.

Ulysse approche de la grotte du cyclope Polyphème. Fatigué, il s’endort devant. Des nymphes musiciennes sortent alors de la grotte, jouent de la musique et jettent des fleurs sur le héros endormi. Calypso arrive, le réveille, alors que les jeunes filles s’éclipsent. Elle l’attire devant la grotte, puis disparaît, laissant la place à la main du cyclope qui essaie d’attraper Ulysse. Le géant sort ensuite sa tête et le héros lui transperce son seul œil avec une lance. Ulysse part alors, Calypso tente en vain de le retenir et pleure au milieu de ses amies.
