The Red and the Blue (Italian: Il rosso e il blu) is a 2012 Italian drama film written and directed by Giuseppe Piccioni. For his performance Roberto Herlitzka was nominated for David di Donatello for best actor. The film also received two nominations at Nastri d'Argento Awards, for best screenplay and for best production.

Synopsis

Le scénario se déroule dans un lycée de Rome : La jeune principale d'un lycée, motivée et efficace malgré un drastique budget de fonctionnement, un professeur âgé, autoritaire et irritable, et un jeune remplaçant sincère et investi se trouvent emmêlés dans un processus relationnel compliqué avec certains élèves caractérisés par les complexes des dernières générations : ambiguïté entre la réalité (vécu) et la fiction (imaginaire), le scepticisme culturel, le désenchaînement social qui les rendent opaques et inexpressifs.

Marco Salviati (Giulio Scarpati) travaille comme vendeur de voiture à Vérone dans l'entreprise familiale, auprès de sa femme, de son père et de son frère. From his prison cell, Alan Musgrave dictates his experiences of the previous year, which he dedicated to fulfilling the unending wishes and ambitions of high school senior Barbara Ann Greene. When Barbara Ann decides she wants Bob for her husband, Alan facilitates by keeping Bob's eccentric mother Stella, who disapproves of Barbara Ann, perpetually plastered. Then Barbara meets schlock producer T. Harrison Belmont, the King of Beach Party movies, and decides to become the biggest star that ever was. Bob refuses, however, to allow his wife to have a Hollywood screen test, so Barbara Ann decides she wants a divorce. Since Bob's mother frowns upon divorce, Alan takes matters into his own hands to kill Bob. Although Bob proves to be almost indestructible, by graduation time Alan has him in a wheelchair. At the graduation ceremony, Alan pursues Bob with a tractor, humorously killing him and everyone else on the speakers' platform. Barbara Ann goes on to Hollywood fame in her debut film "Bikini Widow", while Alan is sent to prison.

Samia Zibra, jeune et inexpérimentée, débute comme conseillère principale d'éducation (CPE). Originaire de l'Ardèche, elle demande un poste en région parisienne pour des raisons particulières. Elle découvre ainsi le collège en zone d'éducation prioritaire (ZEP) de la cité des Francs-Moisins, à Saint-Denis en Seine-Saint-Denis. Elle y rencontre de nombreux problèmes, notamment le manque de discipline et la réalité sociale du quartier. Elle découvre cependant l'incroyable vitalité et l'humour (des élèves comme des surveillants) qui règnent dans l'établissement. Dans l'équipe des surveillants, Samia peut notamment compter sur Moussa, le « Grand » du quartier, et Dylan, le chambreur. Samia va peu à peu s'adapter à ce nouvel univers. Sa situation personnelle la rapproche de Yanis, un élève vif et intelligent avec un potentiel gâché par son insolence et mis dans la classe des « SOP » (sans options). Samia va cependant essayer de le sortir de son échec scolaire pour lui proposer un avenir meilleur.
