Synopsis
Le scénario se déroule dans un lycée de Rome : La jeune principale d'un lycée, motivée et efficace malgré un drastique budget de fonctionnement, un professeur âgé, autoritaire et irritable, et un jeune remplaçant sincère et investi se trouvent emmêlés dans un processus relationnel compliqué avec certains élèves caractérisés par les complexes des dernières générations : ambiguïté entre la réalité (vécu) et la fiction (imaginaire), le scepticisme culturel, le désenchaînement social qui les rendent opaques et inexpressifs.Actors

Marco Salviati (Giulio Scarpati) travaille comme vendeur de voiture à Vérone dans l'entreprise familiale, auprès de sa femme, de son père et de son frère. Après la mort de son père, il part à la recherche de son frère qui a disparu sans laisser de traces, emportant avec lui une forte somme d'argent appartenant à la société. The film opens with the main characters, Matt and Owen, making a movie about a gang of bullies and the revenge that two victimized students take on them. This project, “The Dirties”, contains references to a score of other movies such as Being John Malkovich, Pulp Fiction, and The Usual Suspects. Matt is shown being bullied. Afterwards, Matt asks some members of the student body, as well as faculty about what someone should do if they are getting bullied. The students see that getting help is much more difficult than the faculty members perceive it to be. Matt and Owen are then shown editing clips together for their film, during the course of which it is revealed that a popular girl, Chrissy, had a crush on Owen in grade three. Matt and Owen shoot more scenes for their film project, and Matt has Owen attempt to look cool in front of Chrissy to see if she still likes him.

The film takes place at an elite New England boarding school in the era between the Bay of Pigs Invasion and the assassination of President John F. Kennedy. Claude (Alain Cohen) is an 8-year-old Jewish boy living in France during the Nazi occupation. Brad Hamilton is a popular senior who is looking forward to his last year of school and almost has his 1960 Buick LeSabre paid off. He has a part-time job at a burger joint, "All American Burger" where his girlfriend, Lisa, also works. This esteemed establishment has a strict policy of etiquette: "No Shirt, No Shoes, No Dice". He is pondering how to end his relationship with Lisa so he can play the field during his senior year. However, Brad is fired for losing his temper at an obnoxious customer; when he tries to tell Lisa how much he needs her, she says she is dumping him to see other guys. Brad quits his next job at Captain Hook Fish & Chips because of the humiliation of having to wear a pirate costume when delivering food. He gets a job at a convenience store, Mi-T-Mart, where he successfully thwarts an attempted robbery and is promoted to store manager.
