Le téléfilm est la suite de la série Des agents très spéciaux (1964-1968). Il remet en scène, 15 ans plus tard, Robert Vaughn et David McCallum dans leur rôle respectifs, Napoléon Solo et Illya Kuryakine. Le personnage d'Alexander Waverly que jouait Leo G. Carroll (décédé en 1972) est remplacé par Sir John Raleigh, incarné par Patrick Macnee.

Synopsis

L'organisation criminelle THRUSH vole la bombe A H957 et exige 350 000 000 $ pour être livré dans les 72 heures par son ancien antagoniste Solo. Alors U.N.C.L.E. Doit réactiver les super agents Solo et Kuryakin après 15 ans d'activité. Équipés de la mode habituelle 007, ils commencent à chercher les méchants.

The criminal international organization THRUSH steals the bomb H975 and demands $350,000,000, to be delivered within 72 hours by their former antagonist, Napoleon Solo. In not-so-merry-old-England during the 13th Century, the neurotic Prince John (Roddy McDowell) sits on the throne, supported by his evil henchman, Sir Guy of Gisbourne (Tom Baker) and constantly ridiculed by his mother, Eleanor of Aquitaine (Janet Suzman). The storyline follows a white family running a plantation farm on the Cape Colony in South Africa. The family consists of a mother (Margaret Inglis) and her two sons, Michael and Breck (both played by Mark Burns). Michael runs the house while Breck spends his time alone in his room, deformed and insane, conducting experiments to try to prove the soul is an organic object able to live outside the human body.
