Russian field (Russian: Русское поле, translit. Russkoye pole) - the Soviet feature film Nikolai Moskalenko, filmed at the studio Mosfilm in 1971. It takes attendance at the 22 th place among domestic films in the history of Soviet film distribution.

Synopsis

Fedosia Ugryumova (Nonna Mordyukova) for many is a model of a loving wife, mother, worker. But the son of Philip (Vladimir Tikhonov) has grown, the husband Avdyei (Leonid Markov) goes to the young (Lyudmila Khityaeva). Fedosia world collapses.

Andrei Bolkonsky In St. Petersburg of 1805, Pierre Bezukhov, the illegitimate son of a rich nobleman, is introduced to high society. His friend, Prince Andrei Bolkonsky, joins the Imperial Russian Army as aide-de-camp of General Mikhail Kutuzov in the War of the Third Coalition against Napoleon. As Pierre's father recognizes him, he attracts the attention of Hélène Kuragin and marries her, only to discover she is unfaithful to him. Bolkonsky takes part in the failed campaign in Austria, where he witnesses the Battle of Schöngrabern and the Battle of Austerlitz. The prince is badly wounded and is mistaken for dead. His wife dies at childbirth. Bolkonsky returns to his home and meets Natasha Rostova, the young daughter of a count.

Team of steel erectors has been redeployed to the new construction activity in a small town where the steel mill was being built. The head of the squad Nicholay Pasechnik, albeit shockworker of Socialist Labour, is, however, reputed to be a darling of the women and humorist. The welder Katerina Petrashen', working on the construction site as well, is to be considered by a great many of people as a pretty girl of easy virtue: she smokes (at the time, it was the height of immorality!), not a member of the Komsomol, likes party-coloured dresses and behaves provocatively.

There are three main heroes in this movie: Vera, a waitress; Platon, a pianist; and... a train station where these two people met. The differences in the heroes’ characters and professions, the plight that Platon found himself in (he is to be arrested and undergo trial) trigger a host of both amusing and sad situations which serve as a backdrop for their unfolding love. Platon is innocent of the crime he is accused of. He simply took the blame for his wife’s driving over a pedestrian. But this is known only to Platon’s wife and Vera in whom he confided. However, after the verdict has been passed, Platon’s life is of no interest to his wife, although Vera is ready to wait for his release.

During the Russian Civil War (1918–1922), a female commissar of the Red Army cavalry Klavdia Vavilova (Nonna Mordyukova) finds herself pregnant. Until her child is born, she is forced to stay with the family of a poor Jewish blacksmith Yefim Magazannik (Rolan Bykov), his wife, mother-in-law, and six children. At first, both the Magazannik family and "Madame Vavilova", as they call her, are not enthusiastic about living under one roof, but soon they share their rationed food, make her civilian clothes, and help her with the delivery of her newborn son.
