Cette comédie dramatique est produite par Nicolas Duval Adassovsky avec Quad et Ten Cinéma, en coproduction avec Gaumont et TF1 Films Production.
L'histoire et les personnages de Vincent Cassel et de Reda Kateb sont inspirés du travail de deux éducateurs s'occupant des personnes autistes, ainsi que de leurs associations existantes : le Silence des justes, et le Relais Ile-de-France.
Le film reçoit des critiques positives de la part des médias, avec des réserves de la part de personnalités et associations spécialisées dans l'autisme en France.
Synopsis
Bruno et Malik sont les responsables de La Voix des Justes et de L'Escale, deux associations respectives qui œuvrent depuis 20 ans dans le monde des enfants et adolescents autistes qu'ils aident de leur mieux. Ils forment également des jeunes issus de quartiers difficiles, pour encadrer ces cas « complexes », que les structures médicales refusent. L'association de Bruno est cependant dans le viseur de l'Inspection générale des affaires sociales.Actors

Suite à un grave accident de sport dans une piscine, Ben, devenu tétraplégique incomplet, arrive dans un centre de rééducation. Il fait la rencontre d'autres handicapés (tétraplégiques, paraplégiques, traumatisés crâniens), tous victimes d'accidents, ainsi qu'un handicapé depuis sa petite enfance. Entre impuissance, désespoir et résignation, dans la lutte quotidienne pour réapprendre à bouger un doigt ou tenir une fourchette, quelques-uns retrouvent lentement un peu de mobilité tandis que d'autres reçoivent le verdict du handicap à vie. Benjamin Barois (Vincent Lacoste) commence son internat au service dirigé par son père, le professeur Barois (Jacques Gamblin). Enthousiaste, il fait la connaissance d'Abdel Rezzak (Reda Kateb), un autre interne venu d'Algérie. Cependant, la dure réalité du travail hospitalier le rattrape bientôt. Simon (McAvoy), an art auctioneer, becomes an accessory to the theft of a painting–Goya's Witches in the Air–from his own auction house. When a gang attacks during an auction, Simon follows the house emergency protocol by packaging the painting. The gang's leader Franck (Cassel) then takes the package from him at gunpoint. Simon attacks Franck, who delivers him a blow to the head that leaves him with amnesia. When Franck gets home, he discovers that the package contains only an empty frame. After ransacking Simon's apartment and trashing his car, the gang kidnaps and unsuccessfully tortures him. But he has no memory of where he has hidden the painting. Julie (Juliette Binoche), wife of the famous composer Patrice de Courcy, must cope with the death of her husband and daughter in an automobile accident she herself survives. While recovering in the hospital, Julie attempts suicide by overdose, but cannot swallow the pills. After being released from the hospital, Julie, who it is suggested wrote (or helped to write) much of her husband's famous pieces, destroys what is left behind of them, finishes an affair she has been having during her marriage, and closes up the house she lived in with her family.
