The plot centers around ex-Vietnam veteran and ex-Green Beret Captain, Slaughter (Jim Brown). The film begins with a couple being killed by a car bomb. Cash-strapped actor/director Rafe Stoker (Smith) reluctantly agrees to put up almost all of his personal fortune as collateral to shady investors in order to complete production on his action film.
