Synopsis
Cri-Cri a reçu sa lettre pour faire son service militaire. Ce sont ses derniers jours de liberté, son meilleur ami Bobby sacrifie donc son examen pour partir en vadrouille avec son ami et prendre un peu de bon temps ensemble. Sur la route ils vont prendre en stop Aurélien, jeune timide qui a fui son destin de futur notaire, qui lui impose son père, lui-même notaire. Nombre d'aventures vont arriver au trio, entre la rencontre d'une équipe féminine anglaise de sport, une dispute avec une bande de motards, ou encore la rencontre avec deux belles demoiselles dont Cri-Cri et Bobby vont tomber amoureux. Mais le jour du service et la caserne approchent…Actors

En permission pour dix jours, Christian Amouroux rejoint deux de ses copains, Bobby et Aurélien. A nous la liberté ! Et chacun y va de son type de filles, abordant celle qui y correspond le mieux. Ainsi séparés le temps de la drague, les trois jeunes gens se retrouvent, à leur grande surprise, dans un hameau occupé par une dizaine de filles. Les trois petites amies du moment n'hésitent pas, elles non plus, à profiter de l'aubaine pour faire travailler les trois garçons finalement tombés dans le piège. Et voilà les dragueurs déguisés en maçons.

Deux demi-frères (Sylvain Green et Claus Obalski) doivent retrouver leur demi-sœur pour toucher l'héritage de leur père. Seul petit inconvénient, les deux frères ne se sont rencontrés que dans le bureau du notaire; et le seul indice dont ils disposent sur leur sœur est une photo. La sœur est en plus embrigadée dans une secte. Il s'ensuit alors une course-poursuite passant par la Normandie, l'Espagne (dans un village naturiste) et la Tunisie. En chemin, l'un des deux frères croisera sur son chemin sa petite amie hôtesse de l'air (Victoria Abril) qui se révèlera d'une aide précieuse. Leur sœur retrouvée, ils retournent chercher leur héritage, mais tout n'est pas si simple.

Christian Durieux, Cri-Cri pour les amis, vend des livres à domicile mais cette activité lui pèse et il n'y brille guère, ce qui met en rage son acariâtre patron, Alfred Gomez. Ce dernier n'a d'oeil que pour son jeune assistant, Jean-Luc, qu'il destine à sa fille et qu'il forme comme son propre fils. Las des récriminations dont il est sans cesse l'objet, Cri-Cri quitte sans ménagement Gomez et accepte de devenir "Gentil Organisateur" dans un club de vacances dirigé par l'un de ses vieux copains rencontré opportunément. A l'île Maurice, Cri-Cri s'épanouit et se dépense sans compter. Mais l'arrivée de Gomez vient perturber ce bel équilibre. Bien décidé à se venger, Cri-Cri ne ménage pas sa peine pour rendre le séjour de Gomez tout à fait insupportable. Cependant, après bien des péripéties, Cri-Cri s'éprend de la fille de Gomez et la vengeance finit par tourner court par la force des choses.

The boys' friend, Dave Moreno, is being held for treason by the U.S. Air Force. Slip and Sach go to headquarters to help Dave, but mistakenly enlist. Sach is also mistakenly assigned to a WAF barracks. When the boys finally do visit Dave he tells them he does not need help, as he is secretly being used to capture enemy agents. Undeterred by Dave's words, the boys continue to investigate and Slip and Sach wind up airborne. Good luck allows them to land safely, just where the spies are hiding out. They capture the spies and Dave's true mission is revealed.

Lt. During the Vietnam War in 1968, Captain Sam Cahill (Danny Glover) has been working hard to create good relations between the United States and Montagnard Vietnamese in the village of Dak Nhe. The U.S. Army is looking to monitor enemy operations on a clandestine weapons supply route which passes near the village. Cahill is coming close to his discharge, and explains to his successor Captain T.C. Doyle (Ray Liotta), the delicate nature of Vietnamese customs as well as the counter intelligence involving covert enemy activity. In a lapse of judgment with surrounding village children, a child steals a Nestlé Crunch bar, the wrapper, which when found, lets the NVA know of the local villagers' cooperation with the Americans. As punishment, Brigadier Nguyen (Hoang Ly) of the NVA, orders his subordinate, Captain Quang (Vo Trung Anh), to kill the villagers' elephant right before a spiritual festival. To aid the villagers, Cahill promises to replace the slain elephant before their upcoming ceremony.

In flying school, lazy Private Archie Hall (Robert Mitchum) somehow dominates everyone around him, fellow trainees, sergeants and officers alike, and manages to avoid doing any work. Bill Bowers (Jack Webb), a Hollywood screenwriter in civilian life, becomes his sidekick. An initially hostile, suspicious trio of privates, Sam Beacham (Louis Nye), Russell Drexler (Joe Flynn) and Frank Ostrow (Del Moore), are penalized for opposing him and eventually smarten up and become his pals as well. Archie exudes so much self-confidence that Master Sergeant Stanley Erlenheim (Robert Strauss) becomes convinced that he is an undercover G-2 (counterintelligence) general. Erlenheim and his underling, Sergeant Malcolm Greenbriar (Harvey Lembeck), arrange it so that Archie and his buddies are given permanent passes and a personal jeep, so they can leave the training base whenever they please. Archie sees Cindy Hamilton (France Nuyen) every night, while Bill pairs off with Peggy Kramer (Martha Hyer). Archie also arranges for the three other privates to acquire gorgeous girlfriends as well.

While on holiday in Paris, Ollie falls so much in love with Georgette, the beautiful daughter of an innkeeper, he intends to marry her. Unfortunately, she turns down his marriage proposal because there is someone else, "very much so". (Unbeknownst to him at the moment, a Foreign Legion officer named Francois is her husband, and has returned briefly to see her.) Ollie is heartbroken to the point of committing suicide. Just as he about to jump into a river (with Stan joining him), Francois, happening to catch sight of them about to do so, convinces the duo to enlist in the Foreign Legion in order to forget Ollie's failed romance. When Stan asks him how long it will take Ollie to forget, should they join the Foreign Legion, Francois points out it will only take a matter of a few days. Enticed by Francois's offer, plus the fact that Ollie will completely forget his failed romance very shortly, they enlist.
