Add to a movie listThe Trunks of Mr. O.F. (German:Die Koffer des Herrn O.F.) is a 1931 German comedy film directed by Alexis Granowsky and starring Alfred Abel, Peter Lorre and Harald Paulsen. The film was shot between 15 September and 17 October 1931 and premiered in Berlin on 2 December 1931. The film was then heavily cut down to a shorter running time, and re-released under the alternative title Building and Marrying (Bauen und heiraten). It received its Viennese premiere on 4 June 1932.
It received a mixed reception from critics who were divided over its non-realist, fantastical elements. The film's screenwriter Léo Lania intended it to be a critique of capitalism.
Synopsis
When thirteen large suitcases arrive at a hotel in a small town, labeled as belonging to a mysterious O.F., they provoke curiosity and speculation. Rumours begin to spread like wildfire that they belong to a millionaire. Although O.F. fails to appear, his anticipated arrival is a catalyst for a series of dramatic changes in the town.Actors

À Moscou, en 1916. Casbah is a musical remake of the 1938 film Algiers, which was in turn an American English-language remake of the 1936 French film Pépé le Moko. The plot, which follows that of the 1938 film rather faithfully, deals with Pépé le Moko (Tony Martin), who leads a gang of jewel thieves in the Casbah of Algiers, where he has exiled himself to escape imprisonment in his native France. Inez (Yvonne De Carlo), his girl friend, is infuriated when Pépé flirts with Gaby (Marta Toren), a French visitor, but Pépé tells her to mind her own business. Detective Slimane (Peter Lorre) is trying to lure Pépé out of the Casbah so he can be jailed. Against Slimane's advice, Police Chief Louvain (Thomas Gomez) captures Pépé in a dragnet, but his followers free him. Inez realizes that Pépé has fallen in love with Gaby and intends to follow her to Europe. Slimane knows the same and uses her as the bait to lure Pépé out of the Casbah.

After World War II, immigrants in Cuba who are refused visas for various reasons try to sneak into the U.S. illegally with the help of a human smuggling ring run by Palinov (George Macready), a Levantine café owner. He decides to use her to obtain the place and time of Palinov's next operation.
