Synopsis
Sous l'antiquité romaine, Lucius, architecte de thermes, continue de recevoir des commandes particulières. On lui demande notamment de construire des bains capables de remettre en forme les gladiateurs ou encore d'autres qui pourraient amuser les enfants. Alors qu'il n'est pas vraiment inspiré Lucius est de nouveau aspiré dans une faille temporelle qui l'amène au pays des "faces plates", le Japon du XXIe siècle. Il y pioche plusieurs idées pour ses projets et y recroise aussi Yamakoshi Manami qui va le suivre lors de son retour à Rome. Alors qu'il travaille désormais sur un projet de grande ampleur pour l'empereur Hadrianus, Lucius, et avec lui Manami, va se retrouver pris au milieu d'un conflit politique décidant de l'avenir de Rome.Actors

Azumi and her only remaining colleague Nagara find themselves hunted by ninjas hired by General Kanbei for the assassinations they have carried out. One of which is the killing of his master. They hid temporarily in a temple so Nagara can heal his wounds sustained from their recent encounter. Azumi comes across some bandits led by Ginkaku, a young bandit who bears a striking resemblance to Azumi's former friend (and love interest) Nachi. Later, Azumi and Nagara are found by the allied ninjas working for Gessai, upon whose orders the assassins initially began their mission. After discussing it with Gessai, Azumi and Nagara leave to seek out their final target, Sanada Masayuki. On their mission they are accompanied by a squad of government ninja, among them a young woman named Kozue.

The film follows five simultaneous, loosely linked plot lines, that intertwine and scramble together. Emi Hosho, a third-rate lawyer without much of a future, is tasked with defending Goro Yabe, a man arrested for the murder of his wife. Without much hope of winning, Yabe proclaims his innocence, saying that he was under sleep paralysis at the time of the murder.
