Tod oder Freiheit (litt. La Mort ou la Liberté) est un film allemand réalisé par Wolf Gremm, sorti en 1977.

Il s'agit de l'adaptation libre de la pièce Les Brigands de Friedrich von Schiller.

Synopsis

Allemagne du Sud, vers 1750. Un souverain aussi despotique que bon-vivant et somptueux arrête au hasard des fils d'agriculteurs dans les champs où ils travaillent contre une prime pour les vendre comme mercenaires aux États-Unis. Le jeune Fritz von Buttlar, descendant d'une vieille famille noble, ne veut plus rester inactif face à cette activité monstrueuse. Son indignation est sans bornes, lorsqu'il voit que même la jeune noble Nicole von Beck est emprisonné.

Quelque part dans la campagne près de Wilhelmshaven. Le médecin de campagne Rudolf Fachmin est marié en deuxième noce à Rachel, beaucoup plus jeune. Du premier mariage, il a eu Frank, son fils déjà adulte, qui a à peu près l'âge de sa femme. Ils ont une liaison. Pour Frank, ce n'est pas seulement par désir sexuel, mais c'est aussi un acte de vengeance tardive envers le géniteur. Il accuse son père d'avoir trop vite remplacée la première femme vite abandonnée au début par une nouvelle, à savoir Rachel. Rachel a aussi un enfant, Roman. Le jeune garçon de neuf ans est tout sauf enthousiaste face à la situation générale et, poussé par l'amour maternel œdipien, tente d'assassiner le concurrent présumé Frank, en jetant un objet branché dans la baignoire. Mais au lieu de Frank, qui avait l'intention d'avoir un rapport avec Rachel dans l'eau du bain, c'est Rachel qui est électrocutée. Elle devient paralysée et doit désormais vivre en fauteuil roulant. Rudolf Fachmin a mis de côté son métier de médecin et veille jalousement sur les activités de son fils et de la deuxième épouse. Alors qu'il a gagné sa confiance, il rejette son fils Frank.

Mowgli is living in the Man Village with the girl who lured him in, Shanti, his adopted brother Ranjan, and their parents. However, Mowgli longs to return to the fun of the jungle, and after nearly leading the other children of the village into the jungle, is punished by his adopted father for trying to lead them into danger. Meanwhile, in the jungle, Shere Khan has returned to Baloo and Bagheera's part of the jungle to exact revenge on Mowgli. Baloo sneaks into the Man Village and gets Mowgli to come with him to live in the jungle; however, unbeknownst to them, Shere Khan also infiltrated the village, only to be chased off by the village people. In the ensuing chaos of the tiger's attack, Shanti and Ranjan go into the jungle to retrieve Mowgli, believing that Baloo is a hostile animal and kidnapped the boy.

Lulu, 14 ans, est sortie de la rue par le Dr. Schön, un éditeur. Elle voulait lui voler une montre, il en fera une dame. Dans l'atelier apparaît pour la première fois la comtesse Geschwitz, qui aime Lulu et veut faire un tour du monde avec elle.

The shark takes the bait, and the rope grows tighter, causing the rope to yank the young man overboard.
