Synopsis
Un riche industriel engage un réputé trouveur de canulars, Philip Knight, afin de prouver que l'ile qu'il vient d'acquérir et qu'il prévoit développer n'est pas hantée par le voodoo. Toutefois, en arrivant sur l'ile, Knight réalise rapidement que le voodoo est bien présent sur l'ile lorsqu'il trouve une plante géante mangeuse d'hommes et une tribu indigènes aux pouvoirs étranges.Actors

Flight 60 leaves on a trip to Washington, DC. Three scientists on board have been called for a classified meeting concerning a new bomb design and rocket to deliver it. Mid-flight the plane mysteriously begins to climb, to over 10 miles high. The engines stop, and passengers pass out due to lack of oxygen. The three scientists find themselves in a limbo state, watches stopped and no heartbeats. They are taken from the plane for judgement from those of the future. They find themselves in a moment between time, which explains the stopped watches and lack of heart beats. They are shown, in brief, a future where their bomb has been used and destroyed all life on the planet, having destroyed the atmosphere. They are judged guilty and sentenced to live in the moment with no time for the rest of eternity, where the future and past meet. After one of the future men objects that they can not be judged by a future society, they are returned to the present on a technicality. The passengers have no memory of any of the actions on board before passing out, with the exception of the rocket engineer. When the plane lands at Washington, they discover they are 24 hours late, thus proving the fantastic story of the trial and judgement. The nuclear bomb designer disposes of his notebook containing the formulas and designs for the bomb.

An onscreen text warns of the superstitious belief in a vorvolaka, a malevolent force in human form. The film proper begins during the Balkan Wars of 1912. While his troops are burying their dead, General Pherides (Karloff) and American reporter Oliver Davis (Marc Cramer) visit the Isle of the Dead to pay their respects to the General's long-dead wife. They discover the crypt despoiled; hearing a woman singing on the supposedly uninhabited island, they set out to find her. They also find retired Swiss archeologist Dr. Aubrecht (Jason Robards, Sr.), his Greek housekeeper Madame Kyra (Helen Thimig), British diplomat Mr. St. Aubyn (Alan Napier) and his pale and sickly wife (Katherine Emery), her youthful Greek companion Thea (Ellen Drew), and an English tinsmith.

An evil genius named Dr. Who creates Mechani-Kong, a robotic version of King Kong, to dig for a highly radioactive Element X, found only at the North Pole. Mechani-Kong enters an ice cave and begins to dig into a glacier, but the radiation destroys its brain circuits and the robot shuts down. Who then sets his sights on getting the real Kong to finish the job. Who is taken to task by a beautiful female overseer, Madame Piranha. Her country's government is financing the doctor's schemes, and she frequently berates him for his failure to get results.

Baron Boris von Frankenstein (voiced by Boris Karloff) achieves his ultimate ambition, the secret of total destruction. Alice (Milla Jovovich) and the others on the Umbrella Corporation freighter Arcadia face an attack by a fleet of tiltrotors led by Alice's former ally, Jill Valentine (Sienna Guillory), who is being mind controlled by Umbrella through a scarab device attached to her chest. On arrival in Haiti, Madeleine Short reunites with her fiancé Neil Parker, with imminent plans to be married. On the way to their lodging, the couple's coach passes Murder Legendre, an evil voodoo master, who observes them with interest and manages to grab Madeleine's scarf. Neil and Madeleine arrive at the home of the wealthy plantation owner, Charles Beaumont. Charles's love of Madeleine prompts him to meet Murder secretly in Murder's sugar cane mill, operated entirely by zombies. Charles wants to convince Madeleine to marry him and solicits Murder's supernatural assistance. Murder states that the only way to help Charles is to transform Madeleine into a zombie with a potion. Beaumont agrees and surreptitiously gives the potion to Madeleine. Shortly after Madeleine and Neil's wedding ceremony, the potion takes effect on Madeleine and she appears to die. After her funeral, Murder and Charles enter Madeleine's tomb at night and Murder revives her as a zombie. Drunk and depressed, Neil imagines ghostly apparitions of Madeleine and goes to her tomb. Finding it empty, Neil seeks assistance from the local missionary, Dr. Bruner, who recounts how Murder turned many of his rivals into zombies, who now guard his estate. The two men journey to Murder's cliffside castle to rescue Madeleine.
