The narrative is set in the summer of 1945 in a small village outside Leipzig, where the Americans have just pulled back and been replaced by Soviet troops. The film follows the inhabitants as they adjust to the new situation, in particular Joschi, a teenage Hitler Youth member who is fascinated by the Americans.
The film was produced through Edgar Reitz Filmproduktions in collaboration with Bernd Eichinger's Solaris Film- und Fernsehproduktion and Westdeutscher Rundfunk. It was released in theatres on 6 February 1977 and broadcast on West 3 on 8 March the same year.

It is the Second World War and the Royal Air Force attacks German V-1 flying bomb installations during the early summer of 1944. The de Havilland Mosquito fighter-bomber aircraft of Squadron Leader David "Scotty" Scott (David Buck) is shot down during a low-level bombing raid on a V-1 launching site, and Scott and his navigator/bomb-aimer are reportedly killed. His wingman and friend, then-Flight Lieutenant (later insignia Royal Canadian Air Force squadron leader) Quint Munroe (David McCallum) comforts Scott's wife Beth (Suzanne Neve) and a romance soon develops, rekindling one that they had had years earlier.

Having completed his latest tour of duty, which kept him overseas for nearly two years, middle-aged Sgt. Sous son commandement, les cadets se retranchent dans un fort abandonné. Un cadet est envoyé à cheval pour obtenir de l'aide des troupes prussiennes. Lorsqu'elles arrivent, l'officier von Tzülow meurt au combat. Les Russes s'en vont. Les cadets reviennent à Berlin sous les acclamations de la foule.

A British officer (Bosworth) in World War I has a dream of the life of Joan of Arc (Farrar). The officer pulls a sword out of the wall of the trench he is in, the sword used to belong to Joan of Arc. Removing the sword conjures up the ghost of Joan, leading to her telling her story. The setting then changes to France where the story of Joan of Arc is told, of her leading the French troops to victory and her subsequent burning at the stake. The story ends back in the trench with the officer deciding to go on a suicide mission, using Joan's story and sword as inspiration

Eternamente Pagú is a biographical film about Patrícia Galvão, most known as Pagu, a Brazilian political, literary and artistic activist. An important figure of the Brazilian Modernism, Pagu was also a militant in favor of the Brazilian Communist Party after she married to writer Oswald de Andrade.
