Dans un futur proche, un jeu télévisé intitulé Le Prix du danger fait fureur. Les règles sont simples : un homme doit parvenir à rejoindre un endroit secret, en échappant à cinq traqueurs chargés de le tuer. Si le candidat gagne, il se voit attribuer la somme de 1 million de dollars, ce qui n'est encore jamais arrivé... Le tout se déroule en pleine ville, filmé et retransmis en direct sur la chaîne de télévision CTV. François Jacquemard, un jeune chômeur, veut sortir de son quotidien morose et malgré les réticences de sa compagne, décide de participer au jeu.

The commercial opens with a dystopic, industrial setting in blue and grayish tones, showing a line of people (of ambiguous gender) marching in unison through a long tunnel monitored by a string of telescreens. This is in sharp contrast to the full-color shots of the nameless runner (Anya Major). She looks like a competitive track and field athlete, wearing an athletic "uniform" (red athletic shorts, running shoes, a white tank top with a cubist picture of Apple’s Macintosh computer, a white sweat band on her left wrist, and a red one on her right), and is carrying a large brass-headed hammer. Rows of marching minions evoke the opening scenes of Metropolis.
Starting at the North Pole, a sea captain and his explorer crew encounter Dr. Frankenstein and his creature trying to kill each other. The doctor is saved. As he warns the captain of danger, he tells how he made his creature in the Switzerland of 1818 by way of chemical and biological construction which the creature is a clone (of sorts) of Frankenstein himself, establishing a psychic bond between Creator and his Creation.
The film starts with colorful 1960s music by composer Anton Abril, accompanied by Marcello Giombini’s wordless song Seli (soprano by Edda Dell'Orso) and some psychedelic opening credits. The opening scene is some poorly duplicated stock footage of rockets blasting off and low budget special effects.

Castle Frankenstein has been empty for years and the local council is planning to repossess it, when the Frankenstein family return, seeking to find hidden treasure, and to re-animate the Frankenstein monster.
