Angelica Panganiban (born November 4, 1986) is a Filipino-American film and television actress.

Panganiban started her career at the age of 6 when she appeared in the TV show, Love Note. Her first regular show was the 90's youth-oriented variety show, Ang TV on ABS-CBN. She made her first movie role, in Carlo J. Caparas’ Antipolo Massacre. She also starred in films like Separada, Sarah... Ang Munting Prinsesa, Ama, Ina, Anak and earned Best Child Actress awards and nominations in the FAMAS Awards and PMPC Star Awards.

For a long time, Panganiban played teeny-bopper roles in G-mik and Berks.

In 2004, Panganiban elevated herself as a mature actress in the movie, Santa Santita and gained Best Actress nominations in the Film Academy of the Philippines or FAP Luna Awards, FAMAS Awards, and ENPRESS Golden Screen Awards. She is also known for her dramatic performances in the movie, A Love Story and television series, Iisa Pa Lamang and Rubi wherein she received Best Actress and Best Supporting Actress awards and nominations in the Film Academy of the Philippines or FAP Luna Awards, ENPRESS Golden Screen Awards, and PMPC Star Awards. She also starred in horror films like: White Lady, Bulong, and Segunda Mano where she was recognized as Best Supporting Actress in the FAMAS Awards. In 2011, she earned Best Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role (Musical or Comedy) award in the 8th ENPRESS Golden Screen Awards for Movies and Comedy Actress of the Year award in the 42nd Guillermo Mendoza Memorial Scholarship Foundation for her role in Here Comes The Bride. She also won several Best Comedy Actress awards and nominations in the ENPRESS Golden Screen and PMPC Star Awards for the gag show, Banana Split.

Panganiban experienced a second peak in her career after starring in the film That Thing Called Tadhana which earned her commercial and critical success, notably the Best Actress honor from the 2014 Cinema One Originals Film Festival and the 13th Gawad Tanglaw awards.

Biography

Panganiban only learned about her adoption on January 5, 2010 after the taping of her gag show, Banana Split. She however, confessed she already had doubts about her identity even before that revelation.

In a tell-all interview with The Buzz, Panganiban disclosed that her biological mother died in 2008 and was buried in Singapore. She added that she did everything to find her biological father, Mark Charlson, whom she said did not try to find her because he had thought that she and her mother had died in a car accident. In November 2010, she was reunited with Charlson in Los Angeles, California after 24 years apart, when ABS-CBN gave her a week-long break from work.

A woman, Mace Castillo (Angelica Panganiban) who was desperately struggling in unloading her excess baggage in an airport in Italy, crying over on how she can get an exact load limit with her baggage until a man came up, Anthony (JM de Guzman)who comes to her aid and offered a space in his luggage until they both had finally checked out and went back to their home country. At the Philippine Airport, the two decided not to take the next cab ride and instead go somewhere. Both of them ended up singing in a karaoke bar where they sang together the song Where do Broken Hearts Go and after a few drinks, Mace told Anthony that she wanted to go to Baguio City. On their way, Mace woke up surprised that she can't believe herself asking Anthony to go with him and in Baguio to begin with. In the middle of the travel, they stopped over a terminal station and Anthony asked Mace to go down the bus and join him to eat some snacks. Anthony bought hotdogs and sodas, where Mace assumingly squeezed ketchup on Anthony's food and apologized for doing it, because it was something that her ex-boyfriend likes her to do. Anthony mentioned several different things and Mace had always something in it that reminds her of her ex. Mace remembered a friend whose deal was to pay another friend for every time she mentions her ex. For which, both decided to go for 100 pesos every time Mace mentions her Ex. Then as they reached their destination, they went to an Art Exhibit. While Anthony is staring at a painting, Mace discovers that Anthony has the passion for Arts, specifically in painting. They went out to eat lunch and in the conversation, Mace reveals that she also had a thing for writing during her college years, which was titled "The Arrow with a Heart Pierced Through Him".

The film starts in a church where a centipede-like demon is crawling at the walls. The protagonist Conan, really wanted to get Ellen, the girl he liked and so he asked his friend on how to achieve his wish. His friend said that there was a rumor that if you whisper your wish to a dead body, the soul of that body would help you. So he sought the help of Oprah, who is also a friend. He whispered to the corpse his wish that she would fall in love with him, but the first one was a failure because the corpse became deaf before it died. Conan went home in disappointment but at the same time an old woman was hit by a car, he whispered his wish. The next day while at work, Conan was met by Ellen in a romantic manner and it seems that his wish had worked. But suddenly, the old woman that was killed began to haunt him and wanted him to repay the request that he made to her. He found out that the woman was a witch and she wants to ask forgiveness to a girl to whom she used hex. She needs Conan to make her drink a potion that is made out of holy water and a part of the old woman's body. Conan and Oprah traveled to Bohol, where the girl lives and is attacked by demons during the trip. They finally arrived at the girl's house before being attacked by the centipede-like demon, the girl finally drank the liquid and broke the spell that which cast upon her. The old woman stopped haunting Conan.
