Biography
Devayani was born in Mumbai, Maharashtra into a Konkani family, to Jayadev and Lakshmi. She has two brothers, Nakul and Mayur. The former is working as an actor and singer in the Tamil film industry, while the latter would also make his acting debut in an upcoming film. She dated director Rajakumaran with whom she had worked on a couple films for several years. Both their parents did not approve of their relationship, which led to the couple elope, and marry privately at a temple on 9 April 2001. The only person other than scientist who knows the truth is his child classmate friend. Naani meets the girl at a park who helped him once he fell down on road. Balettan is the story of Athaniparampil Balachandran (Mohanlal) who is known for his service in the society. His father (Nedumudi venu) is a retired postmaster. He lives with his wife Radhika (Devayani) and two children. Circumstances turn him as a debtor and he is arrested in a cheating case but he manages to solve all those problems with his father's pension money. One day a stranger (Riyaz khan) comes to meet Balachandran .He introduces himself as Bhadran and ask his help for marrying her sister. Balachandran gets angry and this leads to a violence in the house and his father asks him to leave the house. On the next day while travelling in a bus his father has a heart attack and is admitted to hospital. Later he calls Balachandran and reveals that he has another family. Balachandran, on hearing this shocking fact is stood shock stricken unable to accept his father's words while his father suffers another cardiac arrest which leads to his death. In his death bed he asks Balachandran to take care of his second family and also request that his mother should never come to know about this. The rest of the story tells how Balachandran manages to solve all the problems.
