Biography

Dès son jeune âge, il est victime de la poliomyélite et perd l'usage de ses jambes. Il refusa, toute sa vie, de se servir d'une chaise roulante et ne se déplaça qu'à l'aide de béquilles ou de cannes.

Il fut l'un des collaborateurs attitrés de Richard Fleischer, durant la première période du cinéaste.

Le 2 mai 1972, dans les studios, il se suicida en se tirant une balle dans la tête.

Carol Hunnicut (Anne Archer) goes out on a blind date set up by her friend, in a hotel restaurant in Los Angeles with Michael Tarlow (J. T. Walsh), a lawyer about whom she knows very little. When Tarlow receives a message during dinner to call a client, she accompanies him to his hotel suite while he makes the call. While she is in the bathroom in the suite, the client, gangster Leo Watts (Harris Yulin), arrives in person with one of his hit men, Jack Wootton (Nigel Bennett). Watts accuses Tarlow of stealing money from him. After a fearful Tarlow admits that he did, Wootton shoots him to death. Carol witnesses Tarlow's admission that he stole the money and the murder itself from an adjacent room, but Watts and Wootton do not detect her. After they leave, she waits for almost an hour before fleeing the scene. Fearing for her life, Carol does not report the murder to the authorities.

Robert est reçu par Ben Ahmed et Gunther, qui construit une ligne de chemins de fer concurrente dans le but de transporter des esclaves vers la côte. In the 1916 Mexican Revolution, American mercenary Wilson (Robert Mitchum) checks into a hotel in Northern Mexico during a battle. Equipped with a suitcase full of Mk 2 grenades, he throws a few "samples" at the Federal troops in the square, turning the tide of the battle. Revolutionary Col. Escobar (Gilbert Roland) and his men praise Wilson's efforts, calling him "El Alacran" (the scorpion) for the sting of his grenades. Col. Escobar is still a bit wary about why an American would want to help them.
