Édouard Vassilievitch Nazarov (en russe : Эдуард Васильевич Наза́ров), né le 23 novembre 1941 à Moscou et mort le 14 septembre 2016 dans la même ville, est un directeur artistique et réalisateur de films d'animation soviétique puis russe.
Il assure la direction artistique pour Winnie l'ourson (1969) et Icare et les vieux sages (1976) de Fiodor Khitrouk.
Il signe son premier court-métrage en tant que réalisateur avec Équilibre de la peur (Равновесие страха) en 1973. Le véritable succès l'attend avec l'adaptation du conte populaire ukrainien Il était une fois un chien (1982) qui parmi d'autres recompenses reçoit le 3e prix spécial du jury au Festival international du film d'animation d'Annecy en 1983.
Il cofonde en 1993, sa propre école d'animation Char (ШАР), avec Fiodor Khitrouk, Andreï Khrjanovski et Iouri Norstein.
Il présente l'émission télévisée Animation de A à Ya en 1996-1998, puis Le Monde d'animation et l'animation du monde de 1999 à 2001.
Le 21 mars 2012, il est fait Artiste du peuple de la Fédération de Russie par le président Dmitri Medvedev.
Mort après une longue maladie à Moscou, Édouard Nazarov est enterré au Cimetière Vagankovo.

Biography
Sorti de l'école d'art industriel Stroganov de Moscou, Édouard Nazarov commence sa carrière dans le cinéma d'animation en 1959, en tant qu'intervalliste. Il travaille ensuite comme assistant de Mikhaïl Tsekhanovski et Fiodor Khitrouk aux studios Soyouzmoultfilm et comme illustrateur des magazines Kvant , Veselye kartinki , Mourzilka, Khimiya i Zhizn , Znanie sila , Micha .Il assure la direction artistique pour Winnie l'ourson (1969) et Icare et les vieux sages (1976) de Fiodor Khitrouk.

The day comes when an old watchdog becomes useless but the masters being kind decide not to drive him away. However they turn exasperated when the Dog stays indifferent during a burglary. The Dog is kicked out and goes to the forest, where he meets the Wolf, his old enemy. The Dog and the Wolf are both old, so they understand they can't be just enemies. La vie coule tranquillement dans la société ancienne. Chacun y trouve sa place et les gens consacrent leur temps à des discussions philosophiques sur le sens de la vie. Parmi eux vit Icare, un excentrique qui essaie d'apprendre à voler comme les oiseaux. Retombant à chaque tentative, il se voit asséner un proverbe par l'un des vieux sages qui observent la scène, comme, par exemple Festina lente, Quod licet Iovi, non licet bovi, Quo altior gradus, tanto profundior casus, Bene qui stat non moveatur, etc. Ces paroles atteignent le ciel et en retombent sous forme de monuments de granit. Mais un jour, un miracle se produit et Icare s'envole.

Avec son charme insolent et terre-à-terre qui séduit à la fois les enfants et les adultes, la série - qui commence avec "Vinnie-Pukh (1969)" - a depuis développé une sorte de culte et est considérée par beaucoup comme surpassant de manière décisive ses homologues de Disney, même si elle s'intègre difficilement dans le canon officiel.
