Enrique Gato Borregán (26 April 1977, Valladolid, Castile and León) is a Spanish filmmaker and 3D/2D animation designer known as the creator of Tadeo Jones. With this character he won two Goya Awards.
In 1995 he started his informatic engineering studies at the university, where he learned to develop game engines for preview his own works and understand how to made the 3D geometric previews of several softwares like Maya, 3D Studio Max or Softimage.
While he was in university, he was hired by Artek, a company specialized in computer graphics. Once in there, he learned to work with programs such as TrueSpace and LightWave 3D, at the same moment Pixar were releasing the first works of CGI animation.

Biography
Gato was born in Valladolid and he grew up in Madrid. Since his childhood he was attracted by animation and technology. When the first personal computers arrived, he began to make his own videogames with an Amstrad CPC 6128.In 1995 he started his informatic engineering studies at the university, where he learned to develop game engines for preview his own works and understand how to made the 3D geometric previews of several softwares like Maya, 3D Studio Max or Softimage.
While he was in university, he was hired by Artek, a company specialized in computer graphics. Once in there, he learned to work with programs such as TrueSpace and LightWave 3D, at the same moment Pixar were releasing the first works of CGI animation.

Tadeo Jones (voiced in English by Kerry Shale) is a bricklayer from Spain who lives in Chicago, working on the construction of the city's subway. Ever since he was five years, he has dreamed of being a professional archaeologist. After being fired from his job as a bricklayer for daydreaming and for his dog urinating on the construction foreman, Tad visits his friend Professor Humbert (voiced by Mac McDonald), asking for the professor's help in investigating an apparently vintage bottle of Coca-Cola Tad found on the construction site. The professor receives a letter from his friend Professor Lavrof summoning him to Peru to re-unite his half of a stone "key" that will unlock the legendary Incan city of Paititi. Arriving at the airport, Professor Humbert suffers an accident after taking the wrong pills and is taken to the hospital. Meanwhile, a member of the nefarious firm Odysseus Inc. is spying on them and sends the photo to the other members who are in the Sechura Desert.
