Herbert Richers (March 11, 1923 – November 20, 2009) was a Brazilian film and dubbing producer. He was a pioneer in the field of voice-overs in Brazil and was responsible for the dubbing of many Hollywood blockbusters into Portuguese, particularly action films such as the Rambo, Rocky, and Lethal Weapon series of films, popular US TV series such as Charlie's Angels, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, CSI: Miami, The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air and Friends and many cartoon series including Popeye and Scooby-Doo. He also produced over 55 Brazilian films between 1956 (Com Água na Boca) and 1975 and was also active with telenovelas.

Années 1940. Une famille de paysans pauvres du Nordeste fuit la sécheresse et la famine. Après une éprouvante marche dans le Sertão, elle parvient jusqu'à la maison délabrée de Tomas, un ami parti tenter sa chance en d'autres contrées. Fabiano, le chef de famille, est embauché comme vacher auprès d'un fazendeiro ayant employé Tomas. La vie n'est guère facile et Fabiano a contracté une dette auprès de son patron. Un dimanche, avant une fête folklorique, Fabiano est provoqué aux cartes par un agent de police. Bien qu'ayant gagné régulièrement, il est frappé et traîné en prison. Libéré, il se remet au travail. Mais, la sécheresse sévit à nouveau. Le couple de paysans et leurs enfants repartent sur les chemins, cherchant désespérément des terres fertiles.

In this film, Grande Otelo, Ankito and Jô Soares are three thieves frequently searched by the police. Grande Otelo's character was having a crisis with his girlfriend due to his criminal lifestyle. However, things get even more complicated when Grande Otelo receives a letter from his aunt saying that she has sent her son. Grand Otelo's nephew, Zé Maria, is extremely Christian, and eventually wins over Grande Otelo, a fact that causes more problems than anticipated.

João Flores, entrepreneur d'une compagnie théâtrale, dirige la vedette Boca de Caçap, l'ancienne assistante du clown Napoleão Josafá et chanteuse sans voix, Benedito. Il tente d'organiser leur revue dans une maison de théâtre, Virtuosa, réputée de Rio de Janeiro. Il tente de séduire la riche veuve, propriétaire de Virtuosa en lui demandant d'accepter le spectacle de son groupe d'artistes abandonné par un homme d'affaires malhonnête. Seulement, les choses se compliquent par la suite face à la poursuite des créanciers ou encore l'ancien homme d'affaires qui avait loué le théâtre, Galileu, qui cherche à empêcher João de réussir, souhaitant récupérer le théâtre dans des conditions plus avantageuses.
