Isa Barzizza (22 November 1929) is an Italian film actress. She has appeared in 46 films since 1947. She was born in Sanremo, Italy.

Biography

Fille du chef d'orchestre Pippo Barzizza et de son épouse Tatin Salesi, Isa Barzizza étudie au lycée classique Vincenzo Gioberti à Turin et commence parallèlement à jouer dans des spectacles de théâtre en interprétant des rôles secondaires, au côté d'acteurs comme Ruggero Ruggeri, Elsa Merlini ou Eduardo De Filippo.

Au début Pippo Barzizza n'était pas favorable à l'activité théâtrale de sa fille. C'est Erminio Macario qui l'a introduite dans le monde du théâtre, après la fin de ses études secondaires. Le grand acteur a personnellement demandé au père d'Isa de l'autoriser à faire ses débuts dans une revue. Celui-ci a accepté à condition qu'Isa soit toujours suivie par une gouvernante, ce qui fut fait. Isa Barzizza fait ainsi ses débuts dans Le educande di San Babila en 1947, suivie par Follie di Amleto en 1947-1948.

Antonio Trabbi is a greedy old man with a very rough personality and obsessed by money. He deprecates charity and love and has no friends or love interest, being lonely and avoided by people. On Christmas Eve he is visited by the ghost of his former business partner, who warns him about his life-style and announces the visit of three spirits, who will show Antonio past, present and future Christmas days. The film is based on a play by the famous Neapolitan writer Eduardo Scarpetta, father of Eduardo and Peppino De Filippo. The story is set in Naples and Sorrento in the second half of 1800. The thief Felice Sciosciammocca (the surname in Naples means "one who is always with her mouth open in astonishment"; Felice means "Happy") together with the bandit Faina ("Weasel") escapes from prison and meets with a eunuch Turkish that he should go to Sorrento for a service. Don Felice kidnaps him and steals his letter of recommendation to get into the house of the rich man who had been sent the Turkish, so that gains a bit 'of money for him and for his accomplice. The man who had called the Turkish is the rich grocer Don Pasquale, being jealous of his wife and young daughter, betrothed to Don Carluccio holding a dowry, is to host the Don Felice robes Turkish and immediately test some suspicion.
