Jason Reitman (born October 19, 1977) is a Canadian-American film director, screenwriter, and producer, best known for directing the films Thank You for Smoking (2005), Juno (2007), Up in the Air (2009), and Young Adult (2011). As of February 2, 2010, he has received one Grammy award and four Academy Award nominations, two of which are for Best Director. Reitman is a dual citizen of Canada and the United States. He is the son of director Ivan Reitman.
Biography
When Reitman was 16 and still in high school he moved in with a woman 10 years his senior. They were together for 7 years until they separated.
In 2000, when he was 23, Reitman met and fell in love with his next door neighbor, eventually marrying writer Michele Lee, with whom he co-wrote the 2004 comedic short "Consent." They have one child, a daughter named Josie, born in 2006. After being together 10 years, Reitman filed for divorce from his wife in June 2011 and stated he was divorced as of 2014.
