Jay Chou, né Zhou Jielun (chinois simplifié : 周杰伦 ; chinois traditionnel : 周杰倫 ; pinyin : Zhōu Jiélún) à Taipei dans la Province de Taïwan en République de Chine le 18 janvier 1979, est un chanteur, musicien et acteur taïwanais. Il est connu pour allier des sonorités traditionnelles avec de la musique occidentale et très populaire en Asie — surtout à Taïwan, à Hong Kong, en Chine, au Vietnam, au Japon, en Corée du Sud, en Malaisie et à Singapour.
Sa notoriété s'étend à travers les mers puisqu'il trouve également une audience auprès de la population asiatique en Amérique du nord ou en Europe.
Il est marié à Hannah Quinlivan qui est une actrice, présentatrice de télévision et mannequin, de 14 ans sa cadette, depuis le 16 janvier 2015.
En mars 2015, Jay annonce sur sa page Facebook qu'Hannah est enceinte de leur premier enfant, une fille, qu'ils nomment Hathaway. En février 2017, ils annoncent attendre leur deuxième enfant, cette fois-ci un garçon.

Un producteur remarqua son talent pour l'écriture et la musique dans un concours de piano. Il fut alors engagé afin de composer de la musique pour d'autres artistes (Vivian Hsu, Jody Chiang…), et ainsi de nombreux tubes en Asie furent écrits par lui, sans que le grand public en ait conscience.
En 2000, sa maison de disques lui donna sa chance et son premier album 周杰倫同名專輯 (Jay) fut immédiatement un hit en Asie. Il sortit par la suite 范特西 (Fantasy), album qui lui vaudra de gagner encore un peu plus de popularité.
Son troisième album, 八度空間 (8th Dimensions), fut son plus gros succès, autant commercial que dans l'accueil de la critique.
Néanmoins l'album 葉惠美 (Ye Hui Mei) est souvent considéré comme son plus beau, les chansons présentes telles que Qing Tian (Cloudless Day), Ai Qing Xuan Ya (Love's Cliff) ou Ni Ting De Dao (You Can Hear), sont en effet des ballades ayant gagné les plus hautes places des charts asiatiques. À l'instar d'autres titres comme Yi Fu Zhi Ming (In The Name Of The Father) ou Wo De Di Pan (My Territory) qui eux sont plus à sonorité moderne.

IDC (International Defense Commission) agent Sean Wong (Andy On) and his team members are in Jordan on a dangerous mission to escort a scientist named Kenner Osama Muhammad, who has stolen a copy of the smallpox virus, to Norway. On the way out of the country, the convoy were ambushed by a group of assailants. It was later revealed that Sean has betrayed the team for his own agenda and shot his colleagues Jon Man (Jay Chou) and his girlfriend Ice (Michelle Bai). Sean then escapes with Kenner and the virus. The failed mission left Ice dead while Jon has a bullet lodged in his brain with no safe way to remove it and only two weeks to live. Three months later, the crew of a freight ship on Malaysian water was found to have been infected and killed by the smallpox virus. Elsewhere, Sean contacts an arms dealer called Tyler (Jared Robinson), who suggests to mutate the virus into a biological weapon, develop a vaccine and sell it to a corrupt pharmaceutical company. The film revolves around an orphaned boy called Fang Shi-jie (Jay Chou), who grew up in a kung fu school and becomes a talented basketball player. Every morning, he is used as a punchbag in a demonstration by the principal of the school. When he uses shaolin iron vest (iron shirt) technique, as to not feel the principal's punches, the principal makes him stay on the streets for one night without dinner. He demonstrates his incredible accuracy to a down-and-out hustler, Wang Li by throwing cans into a bin almost ten metres away. Wang tells him, that if he can throw a coin into his mouth from twenty metres away, he would treat him to dinner. They go to a five-star French restaurant, where Wang Li's daughter works, and eat leftovers. Li convinces Shi-jie to help them make some money for themselves. After eating, they go to a Casino owned by one of Wang Li's old friend's son, Brother Hu. There, Shi-jie wins hundreds of dollars playing darts. The resulting fight causes thousands of dollars' worth of damage. The next morning, before school starts, Bi Tianhao, the principal of Fireball University puts the principal of the kung fu school onto his paylist. Then, after a massive beating by Bi Tianhao's thugs, Shi-jie is expelled. The next night, Shi-jie is once again sitting on the park bench where he met Wang Li, who is still there. On the pretext of helping him search for his family, Wang Li invites him to play basketball at 'First University' as the new star of its basketball team. Meanwhile, Wang Li capitalises on media interest in Shi-jie to make money via interviews and news articles.
