Il passe pour la première fois devant la caméra en 1991 dans La Neige et le Feu de Claude Pinoteau mais c'est son rôle du capitaine Patrick Bochkowicz dit « Bochko » dans la série télévisée Diane, femme flic qui lui apporte la notoriété.
Dans le domaine du doublage, il prête notamment sa voix à Hugh Jackman dans la saga X-Men (sauf Logan), à Cliff Curtis dans Sunshine, à Aaron Eckhart dans Erin Brockovich, seule contre tous, à Vin Diesel dans la saga Les Chroniques de Riddick.
En 2006, il réalise son premier court métrage intitulé Une épreuve.

Biography
Joël Zaffarano poursuit sa formation au Conservatoire d'art dramatique d'Avignon. Au théâtre, il a joué de nombreux classiques : Pierre Corneille (Polyeucte), Victor Hugo (Hernani), Alexandre Dumas (Le Comte de Monte-Cristo) et Marivaux (La Double Inconstance).Il passe pour la première fois devant la caméra en 1991 dans La Neige et le Feu de Claude Pinoteau mais c'est son rôle du capitaine Patrick Bochkowicz dit « Bochko » dans la série télévisée Diane, femme flic qui lui apporte la notoriété.

After the spectacular defeat of a fresh centurion, Caesar sends the patrician Lucullus to capture Getafix and throw him off the edge of the world. In Gaul, Unhygienix lacks fresh fish (as always), which starts a fight, spilling Getafix's magic potion. Because fresh fish is a vital ingredient thereof, Asterix and Obelix go fishing while Getafix gathers herbs, accompanied by Dogmatix. In the forest, Getafix and Dogmatix are captured by Lucullus. Aboard a Roman galley bound for the "world's edge", they pass Asterix and Obelix, who pursue them, using Obelix as an outboard motor until he is diverted by the aroma of food from a passing pirate ship, and then blown off course by a violent storm. After a long pursuit, a dolphin brings Dogmatix (whom Lucullus had dropped overboard) and guides them to the Romans. Seeing the Gauls and mistaking the North American coast for the world's edge, the Romans launch Getafix from a catapult, then return to Rome, while Asterix and Obelix make landfall. In Gaul, Caesar lays siege to their village and waits for the last of the magic potion to run out.

Entre la Libération de Paris fin août 1944 et la fin de la Seconde Guerre mondiale en mai 1945, il se passe 9 mois. Il faut aussi 9 mois pour mettre au monde un enfant. L'infirmière Christiane Mercier et le F.F.I. Michel Fournier se rencontrent et s'aiment pendant les combats de la Libération à Paris. Christiane attend un enfant qui naîtra en mai 1945 mais cet enfant ne connaîtra pas son père qui s'engage dans l'armée, il meurt début 1945.
