Biography
Johannes Roberts wrote and directed the micro budget thriller F. The film was released by Studio Canal in the UK to critical acclaim, with Kim Newman calling it ‘pulsing, paranoid and downright eerie, this is a hoodie thriller with proper scares John Carpenter would be proud of’ in his four star review for Empire magazine. In 2012 he directed the sci-fi horror film Storage 24 for Universal Pictures, written by and starring Bafta winning actor Noel Clarke. The production was acclaimed for its entertainment value in the Guardian’s four-star review with Empire magazine calling it a ‘superior British horror sci-fi with serious scares and some excellent creature design work.’ Storage 24 charted at number 13 at the UK box office, winning awards for its effects work and was chosen for official selection in Sitges Film Festival. The film was also hugely successful around the globe, released theatrically in Europe and Asia. Magnolia Pictures released the film in cinemas in 2013 in America. A military aircraft crashes into central London, releasing its highly-classified contents. Following the crash, a malfunction at the Storage 24 facility causes the security shutters to lock, trapping several people inside: Charlie, his best friend Mark, Charlie's ex-girlfriend Shelley, her best friend Nikki, Nikki's boyfriend Chris, the building receptionist, Jake and a maintenance engineer, Bob. Charlie has arrived at the facility with Mark shortly after the incident, intent on confronting Shelley, who has recently dumped him and is sorting through their belongings with the help of Nikki and Chris. In a brief confrontation, he discovers she has been cheating on him with Mark. Meanwhile, Bob and Jake are attempting to unlock the shutters by checking the electrical distribution boards in the basement. Bob is attacked and mysteriously killed. Jake flees and hides in an open storage room. Chris chances on him and witnesses him being killed by an alien creature.

Kate (Kacey Barnfield) is traveling around Ireland in an R.V. with her ex-boyfriend Ryan (Oliver James), brother Joel (Colin Maher) and friends Hailey (Eliza Bennett), Chuck (Diarmuid Noyes), Tommy (Kobna Holdbrook-Smith) and Anita (Róisín Murphy). After driving into the countryside, the group stop off at a small shop, where they encounter Luca (Ned Dennehy) who attempts to scam them from buying a medallion, and warns them it is dangerous before Chuck steals the medallion and the group attempt to make a quick get-away. However, as they drive away in their R.V. they hit an old woman, who puts a curse on the group, telling them the mythical bird the roc will take vengeance on them, before dying. The group quickly drive away in their R.V. but hit a patch of thick fog and become lost, as fears of the curse heighten. Stopping the R.V. they encounter a young boy in the road. Anita leaves the R.V. to talk to the boy, but he runs away before the roc grabs Anita and drags her into the air. Her body is dropped in front of the R.V., with half of her face mauled off before the roc returns and flies away with her.

English police are baffled after a number of children are brutally murdered. Alice (Uphill) takes a profound interest in the murders as her own son, Daniel, was killed years ago and she is haunted by recurring nightmares. The event replays in her mind, as she remembers walking her son home late one night when they stop to rest on a park bench. They sit next to a clown, who gives Daniel a balloon. A man then rushes at them from the darkness and kills Daniel, injuring his mother. Alice clearly remembers the man's face. The same man has been spotted close to each of the murders in the current slayings. She confides this to Detective Weiss, the investigating officer.
