Joseph et ses deux fils, Joachim et Ivan, formaient une famille très soudée. Jacky Bonnot (Michaël Youn) is a young Frenchman living with his pregnant girlfriend (Raphaëlle Agogué). After being fired from a restaurant he becomes worried about the birth of his child, so he decides to get whatever job despite his passion for haute cuisine. Accepting a job as a painter, he find three internal cooks and helps improve their menu. These improvements eventually reach the ears of Alexandre Lagarde (Jean Reno), who is also in a precarious situation: as the renowned chef of the Cargo Lagarde restaurant, he has to improve or create innovations for the entire menu. If he cannot achieve this, the place will lose a star from its rating and Stanislas Matter (Julien Boisselier) will convert it into a molecular kitchen, with Alexandre and all the cooks losing their jobs. Jacky initially rejects the offer to work with Alexandre, because the position is an unpaid internship, but after hesitation, he accepts. Next day both Jacky and Alexandre start to cook but as soon as they begin, Jacky's finickiness and Alexandre's stubbornness leads to a discussion that concludes with Jacky being fired.

La famille Marsac est en fête : elle fête les fiançailles de Lisa avec Fabien dans le grand hôtel que détient la famille depuis plusieurs générations et qui est dirigé par la mère de Lisa, Jade. Celle-ci a pris la direction de l'hôtel à la mort de son mari. La famille est cependant préoccupée, la mairie doit renouveler le bail et deux concurrents sont sur le coup. Ceci suffirait déjà à gâcher la fête mais peu de temps après les fiançailles, une femme de ménage retrouve le corps de Julien et d'une prostituée dans la chambre 327 de l'hôtel. Les soupçons se dirigent rapidement sur Lisa. Jade essaie de la disculper, en cachant même certains éléments à charge.

Gil Pender, a successful but creatively unfulfilled Hollywood screenwriter, and his fiancée, Inez, are in Paris, vacationing with Inez's wealthy, conservative parents.
