Jimmy Lung Fong (龍方) était un acteur, réalisateur et chorégraphe hongkongais. Lung était bien connu des cinéphiles pour ses fréquentes interprétations d'antagonistes dans différents films hongkongais, notamment dans les films de Wong Jing. Lung s'est retiré de l'industrie du cinéma et est mort d'un cancer du poumon en 2008.

Brian Cheuk is a mainland Chinese security specialist and martial arts teacher. He visits his family in Hong Kong. Shortly after he sends his nephew to school, Charles, a former British marine, takes the students hostage and plants bombs around the school. Charles is unhappy because his son was taken away by his ex-wife and her new husband, and they are on their way to America. He demands that his son be brought to him in exchange for the hostages. Cheuk agrees to help Charles and he rushes to the airport with Simna (Charles's brother-in-law) and Hung (a reporter). Even after they find the boy, all is not over yet because their journey back is filled with danger — both the police and the thugs are out to get them.

One time, Fei-lung's sworn brother Tong Pau (Anthony Wong) was fighting for territories with another triad boss Loan Shark Ko (Steve Lee), which happened on the day of Fei-lung's mother's (Paw Hee-ching) birthday party. Unknown to Pau, the police have planted undercover cop Big Head Man (Eric Wan) in his gang for many years. On that night, Pau was arrested and hospitalized due to heavy injuries.

Lee Rock (Andy Lau), un immigré à peine alphabétisé venu de Chine continentale, survit à Hong Kong, fréquentant autant des membres de triades que des policiers.
