Sean Lau Ching-wan (born 16 February 1964) is a Hong Kong actor who has acted in both films and television series. He won Best Actor in the 2007 and 2015 Hong Kong Film Awards and in the 2000 and 2007 Golden Bauhinia Awards.
Lau was born in Hong Kong in 1964. He joined the TVB acting classes in 1983 and made his first appearance on television in the following year in the drama Draw Out the Rainbow. Dark-skinned with no matinee-idol look, he struggled to be cast as a leading man until he received the lead role in the immensely popular stock market drama The Greed of Man (1992), where he acted opposite Adam Cheng. His wife, Amy Kwok, who won the Miss Hong Kong Pageant in 1991, is also a well-known former television actress and co-starred with him on The Greed of Man. Lau starred in two series with ATV in 1991 and again 2000.
Lau is one of a handful of Hong Kong actors who has made the successful transition from television to film; since 2000 he is now exclusively a film actor.

Une série d’attentats à la bombe se produit à Hong Kong, suscitant la peur parmi la population. L'ancien agent de déminage Poon Sing-fung (Andy Lau), tombé dans le coma à la suite d'une explosion, devient le principal suspect en raison de ses liens avec l'organisation criminelle Resurrection. Après son réveil, Poon est interrogé et emprisonné. Il s'évade pour découvrir la vérité et prouver son innocence. Sur sa route de fugitif, il demande l'aide à son ancien camarade d'armes, également démineur, Tung Cheuk-man (Lau Ching-wan). Cependant, les deux se querellent car Tung doit choisir entre la justice et l'amitié. Il décide de choisir cette-dernière et aide son ami. Au même moment, l'ex-petite amie de Poon, Pong Ling (Ni Ni), qui est maintenant inspectrice en chef de l'Unité de lutte contre le terrorisme, cherche désespérément à découvrir le coupable de la série d'explosions et persuade Poon d'entrer en contact avec le groupe Resurrection pour découvrir sa prochaine cible et prouver son innocence. Poon réalise qu'il est tout aussi difficile de dévoiler la vérité que de se débarrasser d'explosifs.

The film stars two estranged brothers in Guangzhou, Tai-kwan and Keung, who work as firefighters. The last time they spoke with one another was during the funeral of their father, four years before the events of the film. Keung, now retired from firefighting, operates a fire protection systems company. In the beginning of the film, he holds a celebration of the opening of the office of his company. Ding (Liu Kai-chi), the overbearing owner of a bullet factory in Tiancheng County, intimidates his workers to keep them in line, leading to a public Russian roulette "suicide" of a female employee (Xuxu) accused of stealing a box of bullets. A curse relating to a certain "Phantom Bullet" is found written in red on the walls of the factory, though the workers are soon ordered to scrub it off.
