Manu Ramesan is an Malayalee film composer who is best known as the son of one of the most famous poets and lyricists in Kerala, S. Ramesan Nair. He has composed for films such as Pidichirukku (2008), Gulumal: The Escape (2009) and Plus Two (2010).

Ramesan has written lyrics for more than 450 songs for the Malayalam film industry, from 1985 onwards.

The story of Plus Two revolves around five teenagers—Prince, Aravind, Achu, Mathews and Ranjit—played by newcomers. Prince (Roshan Basheer) is a 12th grade student who stays alone in a villa as his parents are abroad. A girl Meenakshi (Shafna) with the purpose of looking around for her sister Parvathy, arrives at the wrong address (Prince's house). Raj (Indrajeet) and Pooja (Manjula Swaroop) are a married couple who move into a new house with their children. Desperate for a nanny to take care of their children, they hire Kavya who is unemployed, after she saves Pooja's life. Kavya grows close to the family and they come to consider her part of the family. However, as the movie progresses, it is revealed that Kavya was the wife of a gynecologist who committed suicide after Pooja accused him of sexually assaulting her. Other patients supported this claim and he eventually committed suicide. In an attempt to save him, Kavya accidentally miscarries. She eventually tries to destroy the family and kill Pooja to get revenge for her loss. The movie is a remake of the English movie, 'The Hand that Rocks the Cradle'.

The protagonists in the love story are Vel (Ashok), a Hindu coming from a lower-middle-class family and a booking clerk at a lorry transport and cargo agency in Tuticorin and Manju (Vishakha Singh), a Roman Catholic girl, studying in the local college. Their first meeting is an accident caused due to her negligence – when sitting as pillion rider on the back of her father's scooter and trying to go through her examination notes, the paper and her 'duppata' flies off, blinding the bike rider coming behind.
