d'Abo is the granddaughter (on her mother's side) of the anti-communist Georgian General Giorgi Kvinitadze.
In November 2003, d'Abo married Hugh Hudson, the Oscar-nominated British director of Chariots of Fire (1981), Greystoke - The Legend of Tarzan, Lord of the Apes (1984), and Revolution (1985).

Biography
d'Abo is the cousin of Mike d'Abo, a singer and member of 1960s group Manfred Mann. This makes her first cousin once removed of actress Olivia d'Abo—the two bought a house together in Los Angeles when Olivia was 19.d'Abo is the granddaughter (on her mother's side) of the anti-communist Georgian General Giorgi Kvinitadze.
In November 2003, d'Abo married Hugh Hudson, the Oscar-nominated British director of Chariots of Fire (1981), Greystoke - The Legend of Tarzan, Lord of the Apes (1984), and Revolution (1985).

Ayan (Emran Hashmi) is a young, recently married salesman who gets a job peddling locally made drugs to pharmacies and doctors. The plot deals with the politically ambitious district attorney Sam Brady (Corbin Bernsen) who has a rivalry with a federal senator and frames his son as drug dealer. He also falls in love with two women – Barbara (Olivia d'Abo) and Genevieve (Jayne Heitmeyer) – who are close friends with each other. Genevieve becomes pregnant after having sex with him and he secretly marries her. The pregnancy results in a still-birth. Being caught by Genevieve in the act of having sex with Barbara, he accidentally kills his wife in the ensuing argument, and buries, with Barbara assistance, Genevieve's body on a downtown construction site. In the end, it turns out Genevieve is still alive and was conspiring with Barbara and the senator; however, this is an intransparent part of the plot.

Andrew Crocker-Harris (Albert Finney) is a veteran teacher of Greek and Latin at a British Public school. After nearly 20 years of service, he is being forced to retire on the pretext of his health, and perhaps may not even be given a pension. He is disliked or ignored by the other teachers and while his pupils fear his relentlessly strict discipline, they are bored by his dictatorial but dreary and un-inspiring teaching methods. His younger wife Laura (Greta Scacchi), whom he has sexually and emotionally neglected, is unfaithful, and now lives to wound him any way she can. She is having an affair with Frank (Matthew Modine), an eager, young American science teacher who is highly popular with his pupils, much more lenient with class-room rules yet is able connect with the students. In his final class, Andrew, whilst reading from a Greek play, finally shows some genuine passion about the subject, giving a glimpse at the teacher he could have been. Andrew's nervous new replacement Tom (Julian Sands) expresses his awe at the ironclad control that the former exerts over his classes, but Andrew advises his young colleague not to follow his example.
