The story is set in 1988. Haider (Indrajith) who works for Mumbai underworld develops a plan to steal diamonds from a racket run inside a textile store in Cherupuzha. He hires Nicholas (Chemban Vinod) and Freddy (Vinay Forrt) from Kozhikode for the theft. They in turn sub-contract it to a small-time thief Aandikunju (Aju Varghese), who gets his friend Louis (Asif Ali) too get involved. Louis has a strange admiration for the underworld dons, and is highly fascinated by Mohanlal's character Vincent Gomez from the popular film Rajavinte Makan, and wants to be a smuggler like him.

Hareendranath Nair (Prithviraj) is an Indian soldier guarding an Indian picket in Kashmir. He happens to meet a Pakistani soldier Mushraff (Javed Jaffrey) on one fine day. They immediately relate to each other and despite of being from different countries they seem to understand each other better than anyone else. They eventually become close friends and start to enhance the morale of each other. However, their friendship raises suspicions among others. They even put into question the genuineness of their patriotism which break their heart. They find themselves in nether world and the story proceeds to tell the hardship they have to go through for their friendship. It is not just with the Pakistani soldier he shares special bond, he also considers a dog by the name Baccardi as his companion. He even does not permit anyone to call him dog. He confides in the dog his inner thoughts and emotions which lifts his spirit slightly even at the most difficult times.

Kochukunju (Prithviraj) is the spoiled son of the well-known Vadakkan Veettil family in Kannur. The hidden secrets of an attempted murder are revealed through portrayal of circumstances that three different girls pass through in their life. The film is set in modern Kuttanad, Kerala, and revolves around the lives of a Vallamkali (boatrace) fanatic named Kochu Kunju and his family. However, certain problems follows and Kochu Kunju is forced to marry a wealthy girl and forget his childhood girlfriend. After buying the boat, Kochu Kunju had to face further problems; his boatmen were attacked and he himself had to lead the boat. However, the ultimate success is for Kochu Kunju.
