Marcos, an important businessman working in Madrid, is wealthy, ambitious and has political aspirations. On top of it, he has a beautiful wife, Diana. Their married life, however, is marred by the fact that the couple has no children after years of trying. At the last minute Diana backs down from adopting a Vietnamese orphan. She is determined to have a biological child. However, Marcos is sterile and has kept this a secret from his wife. Après la naissance de leur enfant, Arturo et Paloma, aidés de leur fidèles amis, s'activent pour l'élever tout en restant cachés de leurs parents. Malheureusement, ceux-ci découvrent la vérité et leur retirent l'enfant, lequel est placé dans un orphelinat dirigé par des nonnes. Le jeune couple et leurs amis s'unissent alors pour le récupérer. Ils s'infiltrent de nuit dans l'orphelinat et retrouvent le bébé, reconnaissable par une tache de naissance en forme de lune sur la jambe. Les jeunes parents prennent ensuite la fuite afin d'élever leur petit garçon en paix.

A French variety company travels across Spain coming back to France. The bus stops by a damage in a small village lost in Castile, named Medina del Zarzal. The vedette star Jacqueline (Corinne Marchand) is sick and she has to remain in the hospital where she is operated upon. The doctor (Antonio Casas) falls in love with her. She represents the freedom, the foreign country, the forbidden. Her presence in the village is a revolution for all the people: students, priests, rich men...
