Riann Steele is an English actress. After studying at Arts Educational Schools, London, she appeared in various Royal Shakespeare Company productions, including A Midsummer Night's Dream, Love's Labours Lost and Hamlet (including its subsequent BBC television film adaptation in 2009) alongside David Tennant. From 2009 to 2010, she played Nurse Lauren Minster in Holby City. Her first feature film role was opposite Aiden Gillen in 2010's Treacle Jr.. In 2012, she starred in the film Sket as Shaks, the girlfriend of a violent gang leader portrayed by Ashley Walters. and in Doctor Who (series 7) as Queen Nefertiti.

Richard Phillips (Tom Hanks) takes command of the MV Maersk Alabama, an unarmed container ship from the Port of Salalah in Oman, with orders to sail through the Gulf of Aden to Mombasa, Kenya. Wary of pirate activity off the coast of the Horn of Africa, he and First Officer Shane Murphy (Michael Chernus) order strict security precautions on the vessel and carry out practice drills. During a drill, the vessel is chased by Somali pirates in two skiffs, and Phillips calls for help. Knowing that the pirates are listening to radio traffic, he pretends to call a warship, requesting immediate air support. One skiff turns around in response, and the other – manned by four heavily armed pirates led by Abduwali Muse (Barkhad Abdi) – loses engine power trying to steer through the Maersk Alabama 's wake.

The film opens with a man (Tom Fisher) sitting eating breakfast with his family. He drives away from his house to Birmingham New Street, where he boards a train; he gets off in London. He has probably been walking around all day, because it is nighttime when we see him finding a spot outside a shop and laying down to sleep. When he wakes up the next day, he goes to the park, where he throws his smart phone into a lake, opens his wallet, destroys his bank cards and throws them in the bin (along with his wallet with a family photo, but then he returns to retrieve it) and puts the money in his back pocket.
