Shana Feste (born August 28, 1975) is an American film director and screenwriter. She has directed and written The Greatest, Country Strong, and Endless Love and has also writing credits for You're Not You.

Biography

Diplômée en écriture créative à l’université du Texas d’Austin, elle poursuit ses études à l’American Film Institute de Los Angeles dont elle sort diplômée en 2003. Elle travaille pour la Creative Artists Agency et réalise en 2009 son premier film Pour l'amour de Bennett (The Greatest) avec Pierce Brosnan, Susan Sarandon et Carey Mulligan sur un scénario dont elle également l’auteur. Elle écrit la même année le scénario de Country Strong qu’elle réalise en 2010, avec Gwyneth Paltrow, Tim McGraw, Leighton Meester et Garrett Hedlund dans les rôles principaux. Son prochain film nommé Un amour sans fin (Endless Love) est annoncé pour 2014. Il s’agira d’un remake du film Un amour infini de Franco Zeffirelli.

The film begins with Beau (Hedlund), singing with Kelly (Paltrow), a recovering alcoholic going through rehab. Beau is clearly smitten by her, and it is later revealed that the two have been having an affair, even though Kelly is married to James (McGraw). Kelly is checked out of rehab a month early by James, who wants her to go on a three-city tour to restore her image. When Bennett Brewer (Aaron Johnson) dies, his family feel like they cannot go on. She is waiting for his wake so she can ask him what her son's final 17 minutes were. After a while, she finds out the truth but is disappointed in what she hears. In the last moments, Bennett was not calling his mother's name, he was calling to Rose asking the other wounded passenger Walker to make sure that she was safe.
