Sooraj R. Barjatya is an Indian Hindi film director. His films are produced under the Rajshri Productions banner which was first founded in 1947 by his late grandfather Tarachand Barjatya. As a director he is most known for his early hits, Maine Pyar Kiya (1989), Hum Aapke Hain Koun..! (1994), Hum Saath-Saath Hain: We Stand United (1999) and Vivah (2006) .

Poonam (Amrita Rao) is a middle class girl who lives in the small town of Madhupur. Karan (Alok Nath) is a poor mechanic who lives in the countryside with his only daughter, Suman (Bhagyashree). He decides to travel overseas in Dubai so that he can accumulate enough wealth to get his daughter married. He decides to leave his daughter with his family like friend Kishan (Rajeev Verma). Kishan lets Karan's daughter Suman stay at his house as he cannot turn down his old friend's request and Suman comes to live with his family. Ek Vivaah... Aisa Bhi is the story of Chandni (Isha Koppikar) who belongs to a middle-class family living in Bhopal and Prem (Sonu Sood) who is an unconventional ghazal singer and hails from an upper-middle-class family. Chandni and Prem meet to practice for a Ghazal competition and fall in love. On the day of their wedding Chandni's dad dies leaving her younger brother and younger sister dependent on Chandni herself. Initially Chandni decides to leave the house and her siblings under the care of her uncle- however when she realizes that her unscrupulous uncle and aunt want only the house and care two hoots about her siblings, she decides to bring them up herself. Tusshar Kapoor plays Sahil, an artist who draws cartoons. He falls in love with Ritu (Amrita Rao), the daughter of a businessman, for whom Sahil had designed a mascot. The story moves on and both fall in love. Her father hates artists, and he decides she will not marry him.
