Stewart Bevan (born 10 March 1948) is a British actor, best known for his performances in both film and television.

His film credits include: Burke & Hare (1971), The Flesh and Blood Show (1972), Steptoe and Son Ride Again (1973), The Ghoul, Brannigan and House of Mortal Sin (1975).

TV roles include: Public Eye, Secret Army, Shoestring, Blake's 7, The Enigma Files, Ivanhoe, Airline, The Gentle Touch, Casualty, Silent Witness and Murder in Mind. He is well known for playing Professor Clifford Jones, love interest to popular companion Jo Grant, in the 1973 Doctor Who serial The Green Death.

In 1920s England, a group of upper-class people take part in an automobile race to Land's End. One couple, Billy and Daphne, get lost in heavy fog and crash their car. Billy goes to look for help, but takes so long that Daphne strikes out on her own. She eventually locates a rural estate owned by Dr. Lawrence, a former priest. He receives her kindly and sends his disturbed gardener, Tom, to find Billy. Tom finds and murders Billy, and pushes the car into a ravine; it is implied that he acted on his employer's orders.

The Steptoes have retired their horse - because the horse is lame, after having to pull the cart (and Harold) home from York, after the horse walked into the back of a removal van which then drove off - and plan to buy a new one with Albert's life savings of £80, putting £9 away for "emergencies". Harold sends Albert home and returns several hours later drunk and introduces Hercules the Second, a short sighted racing greyhound. Harold reveals to Albert that he purchased this from local gangster and loan shark Frankie Barrow for the £80 plus a further £200 owing on top. Furthermore, he plans to pay a small fortune to keep it fed on egg and steak.
