Synopsis
A anonymous producer assembles a group of unemployed actors and actresses to be in a play, rehearsing in an abandoned theatre beside the sea. A murderer, who wears black gloves, kills all of the actors in various ways. The murderer is later revealed to have previously been an actor, who trapped his wife and her new lover in the wall, re-emerging 30 years later to commit murder again.Actors

Suite à la rupture avec son amant, Jenny Welch vit avec sa sœur Vanessa. Sa vie amoureuse instable la pousse à aller en confessions avec le père Xavier Meldrum à l’Église, recommandé par son ami d'enfance, le prêtre Bernard Cutler. Froid et acariâtre, Meldrum abuse de sa position d'homme de Dieu pour profiter des jeunes filles fragiles venues se confesser auprès de lui. Lorsqu'elles se confient, le père Meldrum enregistre secrètement leurs secrets pour ensuite leur faire du chantage. Frustré par sa misérable vie sexuelle, il séquestre notamment sa propre mère avec l'aide d'une tortionnaire blonde et castratrice. Femme libérée, Jenny est sa nouvelle proie et Meldrum, obsédé par elle, s'immisce dans sa vie privée en la traquant, en la faisant chanter avec ses aveux sur un avortement qu'elle a subi puis en tuant les hommes qu'elle fréquente pour la remettre sur le bon chemin et pour la purifier. Lorsqu’elle comprend qu'il est un psychopathe, personne ne la croit car il est inimaginable qu'un homme de foi puisse être un pervers et un meurtrier.

In a flashback, horror author Franklin "Frankie" Scarlatti tells a story on the way to his hometown, Willowpoint Falls. On Halloween 1962, Frankie (Lukas Haas)—then 9 years old—is tricked by school jokesters Donald (Jared Rushton) and Louie (Gregory Levinson) and ends up locked in the school's cloakroom after the last school bell has rung. Trapped well after dark, he witnesses the ghostly scene of a brutal attack of a red-haired little girl. Suddenly, he is attacked and strangled by a dark figure. Losing consciousness, he again sees the girl, and she mysteriously asks for his help to find her mother. Nine-year-old Tim and his mother Sarah are brought to the cinema by his father Brad (Jake Weber) who urges them to take a taxi instead of a bus when going home. After the show, Sarah wants to call a taxi but one is already arriving. They enter it but instead of bringing them home the driver, Bob (Vincent D'Onofrio), abducts them into his home. There he kills Sarah and makes Tim his slave for his housework, threatening him with violence if he does not obey, giving him the new name "Rabbit". Tim tries to escape later, Bob even encourages him to run away, but then Tim is afraid to do this when he notices that nobody can hear him far away from the city. Bob continues to be a serial killer abducting young girls, raping and killing them at his home.
