Sylvain White (born February 12, 1975) is a French-born film director.
Sylvain opened his first theatrical feature Stomp The Yard at number one in the US. He went on to direct the explosive action comedy The Losers starring Chris Evans, Idris Elba and Zoe Saldana. He then went back to his native Paris to write and direct the acclaimed murder mystery La Marque Des Anges starring Gérard Depardieu.
Sylvain also directs numerous television episodes such as CSI, Hawaii 5-0 and Covert Affairs.
He is currently packaging, writing and developing several feature film projects .

Biography
Son of an American professional basketball player and a French flight attendant, Sylvain White was born in France and grew up in Paris. After attending La Sorbonne University for law, he earned a scholarship to Pomona College in Los Angeles, Upon graduation a series of award-winning short films led him to direct a series of groundbreaking music videos and commercials in the US, Europe and Japan.Sylvain opened his first theatrical feature Stomp The Yard at number one in the US. He went on to direct the explosive action comedy The Losers starring Chris Evans, Idris Elba and Zoe Saldana. He then went back to his native Paris to write and direct the acclaimed murder mystery La Marque Des Anges starring Gérard Depardieu.

In Paris, Lionel Kasdan, a retired BRI commander desperate to come back to action, investigates the strange murder of Wilhelm Goetz, a choir master and Chilean refugee found dead in his church with his eardrums blown out, surrounded by bloody children's footprints. The Losers are an elite black ops team of United States Special Forces operatives, led by Clay (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) and formed by Roque (Idris Elba), Pooch (Columbus Short), Jensen (Chris Evans), and Cougar (Óscar Jaenada), who are sent to Bolivia in a search and destroy mission on a compound run by a drug lord. While painting a target for an upcoming air strike, the Losers spot slave children in the compound and try to call off the attack, but their superior, codenamed "Max" (Jason Patric), ignores their pleas.

DJ Williams (Columbus Short) is a young man in inner-city Los Angeles. He and his younger brother Duron (Chris Brown) compete in local dance competitions as members of a crew known as the "Goon Squad". During the battle there are backs and forths, but in the end of the battle the Goon Squad win a cash-prize, and the leader of the rival crew goes all in for a double or nothing battle,which DJ accepts much to the dismay of his brother who knows that if the opposing crew leader thinks he got hustled the crew won't be able to spend the money they win, the Goon Squad wins the second battle and the losing home crew responds by ambushing DJ and his crewmates after the show. A fight breaks out, and the leader of the rival crew starts beating up DJ. Duron pushes him away and starts fighting him, leading the rival to pull out a gun and shoot Duron, killing him.

On July 4, Amber Williams (Brooke Nevin), her friends Zoe (Torrey DeVitto) and Roger (Seth Packard) and her boyfriend Colby Patterson (David Paetkau) stage a prank at the town carnival, with Roger faking the return of the "Fisherman" killer, with the hook Roger says Ben Willis originally used. Sam Walczak (Mischa Barton), is a recent engineering graduate.
