1905 (一九〇五, Ichi Kyū Zero Go) was a Japanese film to be directed by Kiyoshi Kurosawa and starring Tony Leung Chiu Wai, Shota Matsuda, and Atsuko Maeda. Originally scheduled to be released in late 2013, on 25 February 2013, it was announced that production of the film had been cancelled before filming could start due to difficulties with Tony Leung's involvement exacerbated by the Senkaku Islands dispute and the bankruptcy of Prenom H on 20 February 2013.
Synopsis
In 1905, during the waning years of the Qing Dynasty, at a time when numerous Chinese revolutionaries traveled to Japan as students to study modernization, Yan Yunlong (Tony Leung Chiu Wai), a loan shark, travels to Japan to collect overdue debts from five men. Meanwhile, Tamotsu Kato (Shota Matsuda) is a member of Houkokukai, an ultra-nationalist group, who is also searching for the same five men.Actors

Rhapsody in August is a tale of three generations and their responses to the atomic bombing of Japan. Kane is an elderly woman whose husband was killed in the bombing of Nagasaki. Next, come her two children and their spouses, all of whom grew up in postwar Japan, as well as their Nisei cousin Clark (played by Richard Gere) who grew up in America. Finally, there are Kane's four grandchildren, who were born after the Japanese economic miracle and provide most of the dialogue in the film.

Kenichi Takabe (Koji Yakusho) is an emotionally repressed police detective with a mentally unstable wife. Takabe investigates a series of bizarre murders. Though each victim is killed in the same way, with a large "X" carved into their neck, the perpetrator is different each time. In every case the murderers are caught close to the scene of the crime, and although they readily confess to committing the crimes, they never have a substantial motive and cannot explain what drove them to kill.
